SOURCE: car stalls, oil light comes on, smoke from under hood
sound like the overheating of the engine did some internal damage. ethier an intake or head gasket or maybe even a warped or cracked head. worse case senero would be a cracked block. check the oil see if it looks milky like a grey sludge. most likely it is a head gasket. have a leak down test preformed to confirm. the labor for the head gaskets is 9 hours for 1 or 11.5 for 2. I would replace both and have the mechanic check the heads and block for cracks while he has it apart.

Before making any repairs I suggest you put an external mechanical oil pressure gauge in place of the sending unit and determine what your actual oil pressure is. That will tell you which way to go using real numbers. If this condition appeared suddenly it may not be a large problem, especially as you did not note any knocking etc that goes along with internal wear.

go to autoparts store and use their scanner to scan the computer and get the code. you may have to wait until you can catch it back on again. You can try resetting the computer by disconnecting battery for 30 minutes and see if that works first
Testimonial: "I knew that but thanks for the help. I,m way out in the woods too far to autozone or anywhere else without a good reason forgot about the Batt. reset"

Sounds to me like the Throttle Position Sensor. Thats usually what makes the throttle "rev" But that is not going to make the oil pressure drop. Pull the codes from your car and look them up online. sometimes there is an extra fuse u can add to your panel and turn the key on and it will flash your codes via the check engine light. i.e. if the light flashes 2 times then small pause then 1 time and long pause that is code 21. if there isnt a extra fuse you can usually jump it with a paperclip and pull the codes. not really sure how to do that with yours. but im positive Google knows ;)

The blinking light is telling you that you have a headlight out, if you look the service light should be coming on when the light stops blinking.
Replace the head light and all should be fine.

Hi Ronald eugene petree, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
Does it loose any coolant?, or does the gauge just read a higher than normal temp? Are the coolant and oil levels correct? What do you do to restart the engine afteer it stalls?
