I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid with a 2.7 engine and I would like to know how hard is it to change out the A/C compresser?

Got to change the entire system. Not cheap at all. $1300-$2000...You just can't swap out the compressor, and leave the rest of components. The entire system will be damaged. It's not as simple as it seems.

Where is the freon recharge port on the 2000 intrepid

Look for the large line coming from the compressor and follow it until you come to the service port,this will be the one

Where is the low side a/c recharging port on my 2000 dodge intrepid?

Follow the line that comes from the firewall to the compressor. if nthe system is functional its the coldest of the two.

Where is the heater core located and where is the thermostat located on 2000 intrepid? can i change these myself? is it easy or difficult?

replace the thermsostat, if that doesn't solve the problem you have a blown head gasket, it sounds like combustion gases are getting in the cooling system.

A/c dont work and wires are good the compressor is as far as i know the clutch is good kind of tight tho. has been recharged. if some one can help that would be great thanks

ck ac relay and low side switch,,,,fuses ok? make sure there is nothing causing the ac not toif it where recharged it might have leaked back down come on,,,enough freon?

The code P1684 is real easy. The computer is stating that the battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts.

A/c compessor needs replacing

yes you can its about $6.00 a can for 134-A at dollar general and the hose its about $6.00 also and don't for get to add a can of 134-A-oil back in the system also try this website its for auto A/C repair www.directgardening.com and i hope i have been some help to you Michigan Man.

Go to the nearest discount parts place.. Tell them what your car is and ask for AC coolant.. They will tell which type of gas your car takes.. You can buy a kit that puts coolant into your ac...

YES U CAN RECHARGE IT EASILY BUT WHY IS THE SYSTEM LOW? U HAVE TO HAVE A LEAK, IF U DON'T LOCATE THE LEAK ALLOT OF AIR POLLUTING VERY EXPENSIVE R134 REFRIDGERENT WILL LEAK RIGHT BACK OUT.
