Is the coil working ? Do you have power to the coil and can you ground the negative side to make it spark ?
You'll need a shop manual to be able to test the ignition components such as the ignition module and the pickup coil in the distributor.

Everything was running great and suddenly the engine fires but does not turn over in my 96 sierra 2500 where is the the fuse for the fuel pump i cannot locate it..please help

Hi, your pump is powered by the ECM-B fuse in the engine compartment relay box. The fuel pump relay is turned on by the ECM. Installed a new rebuilt engine this truck in neutual or in gear has a virbration at a low rpm could be a miss fire or something out of balance can't tell have done everything to the engine except the fuel...

really helps to know what year the truck is. If its a 96 or newer you would set a code if its a misfire. Without seeing the truck and knowing what you did it could be anything from an unbalanced motor to a bad torg converter or hormonic balancer. Other than that it would have to be scopped to determine what cylinder is acting up if its isolated to one cylinder.

For a 1985 Chevy S10 with a 2.8L engine the firing order is: 1-2-3-4-5-6 The Distributor rotation is clockwise.Take off the cap and bump engine till the rotor points to the no. 1 plug. this is the no.1 contact on the cap. follow rotation around the cap in order. {ie. 2,3,4 ect.} hope this helps.

Engine won't start

even if you have spark, it may not be "good spark"

Try cleaning the contacts to the coil, or replace the coil itself.

May have pinched or cut a wire by mistake during the work you have done. Check all for proper grounding as well
