First off if the oil warning light is on, u need to check the oil pressure with a gauge with the engine at operating temp. and make sure oil pressure is up to spec. a bad switch can cause it to come on also. on the backside of the engine there is an aluminum heat shield covering the switch held on with 3 15mm bolts. after you remove the shield the switch can be removed with a deep socket. dont over tighten the new one when you put it in.

SOURCE: 2002 chryler sebring is leaking anti freeze

It depends on where the leak is coming from. If the water pump is leaking, it has a hole on the bottom of it. You will see a trail of dried anti freeze coming from the bottom of it, indicating a bad water pump. It's best to dry everything off, crank it up and let it come to operating temp and check for where the leak is coming from. It may just be an old hose or loose clamp.

SOURCE: i need the firing order on a 1999 chrysler sebring

153624 on a six cylinder. This should be in cast on the intake manifold. To locate what tower to use on the cap, do this. pull the #1 plug. Bring it to tdc on the compression stroke. Now chk out where the rotor is pointing and that's the tower for #1. Good Luck -Ned-

SOURCE: can i replace the camshaft sensor on my sebring

the camshaft sensor is not sold separately for a 2.5 engine,it is mounted in the distributor and you would have to replace the whole distributor!

SOURCE: oil sending unit on 2004 chrysler sebring V6

Should be located close to the oil filter. It will screw in like a spark plug. It has a harness plug. Easy to change, save yourself $70 in labor. You will need a fairly large wrench to remove

Have you checked the oil level in the engine? Without suffient oil, the oil pressure will drop.

Why would my 2001 Sebring lxi 2.7l v6 rebuilt engine new sensors has oil light come on when stopping. why?

This is an oil PRESSURE issue, not oil level.
It is likely that when you stop, and the engine returns to idle, the oil pump is not creating enough pressure to push oil up to the top of the engine and lubricate the valve assembly.
I hate being the bearer of bad news, but the plastic impellers in most modern oil pumps do fail over time, especially if they've been disturbed by the work associated with an engine rebuild. Or, it could be that it is not sitting right on the pickup and feed tubes, and they are being blocked and causing pickup problems at low RPMs. The solution will involved dropping the pan to figure out what's going on with the pump.

Bank 2 sensor for a chryler sebring can i still drive the car for alittle bit

It should be alright for a bit. It will not cause damage. Your gas mileage may drop a bit. The oxygen sensor is there for the computer to adjust fuel requirements for the engine, called "fuel trim"-more precise measurement of the gas required to run at optimum.

Trying to find the headlight relay on my 2004 chryler sebring

There is a relay in the fuse box in the engine compartment, but it would handle both high and low beams. So I would guess the problem is in the dimmer switch.

I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, the timing belt broke, had it replaced, when i got the car back th oil light was on and would go off for a few seconds then come back on, and now it stays on all the time....

Sounds like bad oil pressure switch. Is the engine making any loud noise(s)? I'd replace oil pressure switch and/or check connection at oil pressure switch.

Where is the oil sending unit on a 2004 v6 sebring

The oil pressure sensor is located on the back of the engine, behind a heat shield. you will need to be able to work from under the vehicle to access it.

Oil light comes on only when at an idle

I just had the same problem on an 04 Sebring with a 2.7L V6. The oil pressure sensor (switch) was the culprit. Several web references that I checked mention that the original sensors have issues with oil leakage, which eventually causes it to fail. The sensor itself is fairly inexpensive..about $15. It is located on the back side of the engine and is only accessible from under the car. Look for a small heat shield held on by three 15mm bolts. It is just to the driver's side of where the exhaust system goes behind the engine. The oil sensor is located under this shield. You will need a 1 1/4" deep socket to remove it. When installing the new sensor, be sure to use a torque wrench. It needs to be tightened to 14 ft/lb. Using more force than that, and you run the risk of damaging the sensor.

If this doesn't resolve the problem, you may have a problem with the oil pump either being defective or blocked with sludge. As one of the other gurus on here mentioned, this engine does have a known problem with sludge buildup. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Oil light??

I was lucky on mine. It was just a bad oil sender switch that needed to replaced, plus the cable connector up-grade. Oil was leaking past the switch. Oil pressure was measured at full spec, both at idel and running.

2004 sebring

If you are talking about the change oil message on your cluster. You need to press step until oil change mileage appears on screen and then just press reset.

If you are inquiring about the oil pressure swith on the engine there is no reset procedure. If you just replaced the oil pressure switch and still have no oil pressure, you are going to have to use a manual oil pressure gauge to make sure that you have engine oil pressure. If you have oil pressure with the manual guage there is a problem with the wiring or engine computer.
