Sounds like the problem lies in the profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) i.e Crank Sensor or in the Ignition Control Module (ICM), once the ICM gets the PIP signal, it starts to switch the Ignition Coil on, Once the Ignition Coil gets this switching signal, it starts to Spark away, I think you are not getting signal from PIP to ICM to get spark. I did a quick search online and if you do need to replace your Ignition Control Module this site looks like it has cheap prices, free shipping and great reviews http://www.buyautoparts.com/ignition-control-module.html
Here is the ICM,on you particular vehicle you should be waste spark, which is called a coil pack where all the spark plug wire come out at.This ICM sit right on the distributor
1. Check the spark plug gaps. It should be adjusted to the thickness of a hacksaw blade. 2. You replace almost all of the ignition parts but not the hi-tension cables of the plugs and the coil. Have this replaced. 3. Check all the plug for sparks. Sparks must be blue in color to indicate good voltage to burn the fuel and run your engines. 4. When everything in the ignition is working, check the fuel at the carb if it has a good spray. 5. Check the air-fuel adjuster at the carburetor. From full close position, turn 2-1/2 full turns counter clockwise. 6. Then, start your engines and go.
check fuel pressure and fuel filter it sounds like your not getting enough fuel to motor
spray a little starter fluid into throtlebody
if it runs you have a fuel prob. keep us posted
If you have fuel, replace the coil plate, you fried the diode in the coil plate causing it to not fire to test you need a spark plug detector light to see if your getting spark. If you just disconnect the wire and test it like the old spark plug system you will fry the coil or the diode in the plate, I forget what ford calls it, GM calls it a firing diode?? I think rusty memory.
