You likely need to charge the AC with freon. If it has been a year or three since you've had it checked, it is probably low on freon and needing to have some added.
The electric motor is probably shot. Does it work when you switch between settings like vent and floor?
If one setting works and another doesn't then you have a problem with the dampers in the dash and the dash needs to be removed.
If the motor is shot, you can find is location by listening very carefully for any noises when you turn on the ac coming from near the dash board. You can also ask a local auto parts rep to locate it for you, they can also sell you a replacement if you need it.
sounds like you may have developed a leak in the system, when the pressure in the system is low it will cause the compressor to cycle off and on. Have you tried to charge the system? P.S. Dont know if you are aware but hte compressor kicks on when the heat is on as well as he AC.I hope this helps and good luck !!
Waterpump, seems like a likley culprit. Your Ac compressor belt runs over your water pump. when the ac is on it puts more load on your engine , your water pump may be defected and not able to handle the extra load.
Are you sure you checked the temp door ?Is it hot air ,like the heater?First check the ac compressor to see if it is actually turning, then check the large ac lines near the firewall near the windshield to see if they are cold, and sweating. If they are that rules out freon problem. The temp door might not be moving, check all selections on ac control and watch is door and see if one of them doesn`t move.If one door doesn`t move then it is the one you need to fix,if I can help, let me [email protected]
