Remove and clean or replace the exhaust gas recirculation valve. Replacement is likely your best option. The traction control light could be indicative of a problem with the brake system (check for low brake fluid), a bad or damaged wheel sensor, or a computer glitch. I'd guess wheel sensor as they are the most exposed to the elements. As far as problems with traction control systems are concerned, you are best served by bending over and visiting the dealer. Despite the inflated price they may charge it is far less costly than risking the safety of youself, your passengers or whomever may be using this vehicle.

The egr valve is located on the front of the right cylinder head. It has a tube attached to it and going to the intake manifold. It has failed and is why your jeep is running rough and hesitating. Replace it and it will fix your driveabllity issues. Disconnect the battery for 2 min to clear the code.

It takes a 17 mm wrench to losen the tubing on both sides of the valve. Then it is a matter of unmounting the bracket and pulling off the vacuum line. Make sure that you losen both lines BEFORE unmounting the bracket or you will never get it off. Sometimes getting the tube fitting (flare nut) loose requires a flare nut spanner wrench. Some EGR vlaves on have one flare unt and have gasket under the EGR valve where it mates to the manifold. Make sure you replace the gasket if yours has one.

I also recommend that you use a long piece of solid copper wire #10 to push through the tubes to remove the carbon build up.
It really is a matter of time. The most difficult thing about changing an EGR valve is getting the flare nut(s) loose.

Absolutely. You'll know if your EGR valve is stuck or malfunctioning because your car will experience symptoms like rough idle and bucking on acceleration.
