Small Wire broke off next to ground cable on 1996 cadillac deville where does it go?

unlock drivers door from the outside.
to disable permanently ground single wire in drivers door going to keylock cylinder.

Ck the power at the solenoid. You should have 12v off the battery going in... a equal sized ground wire on the other side & a signal wire/key power to trigger the stater to turn it over.

check all the cables again,make sure the battery is tight and the starter has the ground conected

Hello: Check the battery and cables for excessive corrosion, remove cables from battery, clean cables, remove small bolts from cables and clean or replace them make sure they are tight when re-installing. Make sure the battery is good and fully charged.

check battery connections, check grounds

First make sure you have the voltage going to the battery with the car running, (new would be 14+ volts). If you do then you have a short in the wire that goes to the light. WHen you have a short, it is grounded out, causing the light to come on. Two things you can do, first, Ignore the light. second THere are two wires to the alternator, one is 12 volts, the other goes to the light, that wire you will have to trace to the short and repair it.

THERE,S A GROUND WIRE UNDERNEATH THE CARPET IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR IT MAY HAVE CORRISION ON IT OR BROKEN A LOOSE FROM PUTTING THINGS IN THE TRUNK THATS IF THE BRAKE SWITCH IS STICKING CAUSING THE BRAKES TO STAY ON BUT OTHER THAN THERE GROUND WIRE IN THE TRUNK UNDER THE CARPET BOLTED TO THE BODY OF THE CAR

check the main ground wires for the battery, remove and clean the ground wire and bolt at the engine. I had a customer with one (would stall and not refire). An easy check is hook up a wire to the neg. at battery and touch it on any bare metal on the engine. If you see a very tiny spark the ground is bad.

posible bad battery cable or bad ground,check all the wiring,i have had battery cables that battery acid has gotten inside the cable and eaten the copper wire and the cable looks good on the outside, check the simple things first to save unneeded costs.

have your plugs been changed,sounds like a wire may be crossed
