THis is the top trim on the swinging tailgate and also acts as the weatherstipping for the flip-up window. I think it should slide out but does anything fasten it?
Kinda hard to imagine, so is 2 door . (why not post a photo?)
there are 3 kinds of 2 door bodies.
the metal top
the rag top
and the fiber glass hard top , removable. (ive owned the last 2)
the hard top comes in factory and aftermarket form.
part 47? (screw 50 left/and right?)
here is the factory top and all parts.
if yours is like this. (if not screws it slides off?) post a photo, really really helps ID parts. (lots there are)

Testimonial: "I will post a picture the next chance i get near the shop where I have the tracker. It is a 2 door with the removable fiberglass hard-top. This piece is mounted to the top of the factory tailgate and has no visable screws holding it. From the ends it looks like a slotted track the full lenght of the tailgate. It's moulded plastic with a rubber top that seals the factory flip up hardtop window."
just like my 91,. i think it just slides out. did you open the rear hatch lower door, and look on both ends.? see screw there, if not it just slides off.
mine was a Best Top(tm)
both ends , inside, door edges, not front and rear sides.
not front rear, full flat sides (top) but edges that are hidden door closed.
