What is the torque spec on lower ball joints on 2000 Lincoln LS

Ball joint-to-steering knuckle nut
Upper.....66
Lower.....110 to 148

they are front suspension pieces, and yes it is costly, but its not just the parts, there's labor also, and another mechanics opinion would be good.

16 mm. there is also a 1/2 year model with an 18mm look on the driver door where the latch is and see if your car was produced in may or june if so it is a half year model therefore it will be an 18 mm

Remove the steering knuckle

Lower ball joint specs:
Torque the ball joint-to-control arm nuts/bolts to 85 ft. lbs. (115 Nm). Torque the castellated nut to 108 ft. lbs. (147 Nm).

Upper ball joint specs:
Tighten the mounting bolts to 42 ft. lbs. (57 Nm) and the castellated nut to 72 ft. lbs. (96 Nm).

Remove Steering Knuckle from vehicle
Remove Wheel Hub Bearing Assy from Knuckle
R&R Ball Joint

You can do yourself,BUT may need to
have the joint pressed out and back in,
IF you can not borrow the tools or rent

I would take the knuckle to an auto parts
store that could do it for you

I would not pay someone to pull the knuckle

Do both sides

Also flush Power Steering,Drain Trans 2 or 3 times etc,
while your involved.

Remove the steering knuckle from vehicle

Remove the wheel hub and bearing assy

Remove the ball joint
