Remove the plastic cover that goes over the engine (the one with the Hyundai logo).
At this point, you will see the cables that goe to each fo the spark plugs.
Noting their position, remove them.
The spark plugs are ready to be removed, turn counterclockwise and replace with manufacturer recomended ones.

You need to remove the top cover 1st. Then remove the gray trim covers on the left and right banks by pulling straight up.You will find individual coils in each cylinder. Disconnect the connector of the coil and pull the coil straight up.The plugs are under each coil.

1989 golf turns over, new distribitor and starting

Did you use electric grease on these parts, the plug wires, and coil pack need this grease on there. It prevents moisture and wetness from rain getting within the components and causing mis-fire. Did it rain or was it cold outside to produce moisture. Grease is $2 for small pack. I just worked on a 95 VW, changed the cap, rotor button, spark plugs, cleaned throttle body, new air filter, fuel filter. His would run fine, but would cut off sometimes up to hours until the moisture dried. After tuning it up, he no longer has the problem. He goes through water puddles to see if it will quit, but it hasn't yet. Worth a $2-$3 try.

Change spark plugs

My 2004 Verona had factory installed "NGK BKUR6ETB" regular spark plugs which I replaced at 30,000 miles. The 2005 model year is supposed to have Iridium spark plugs. To replace the spark plugs: 1. Remove plastic top engine cover. 5 nuts 10mm socket. 2. Unplug connector from each ignition coil. qty 6. 3. remove 2 hold down bolts per ignition coil. 10mm socket. 4. remove ignition coil, lifting straight up. 5. Spark plug is now accessible, use deep well 5/8 spark plug socket to remove.
