Block heaters are not a factory options. They are installed as an aftermarket option after the vehicle is purchased. If you have not installed a block heater than there is likely not one in the vehicle. If one was installed it would be in one of the frost plugs in the side of the block. Since it is an aftermarket install the cord could be anywhere or missing. And experienced automotive professional would be able to find it if it was installed the next time you where in for service.

SOURCE: heater stopped working on a 1994 pontiac grand prix
look in the glove compartment on left hand side should be a little door. if not it would be under the dash board by the brake peddle. if not there, look under the hood for the relay.
SOURCE: where is the heater core located in 1997 pontiac grand prix
Core is dead center in front of the shift console. There is a bunch of plastic that needs to be removed to get to it, including (on most) the console.
Hardest part of job is getting to the heater hose ends on the firewall (difficult to get to from above or underneath unless it's on a lift, but not impossible) Haynes and Chilton have pretty good instructions for that job and you can use the manuals for other stuff as well...(about $20)
Job takes some time but is much easier than a Jeep!!!! (all day job)
Good luck
SOURCE: where is the heater core located on the 2005
almost all heater cores are located under the dashboard, just above the passenger's feet, encased in a black plastic box. It ain't easy to take the dash apart and change it. I would first make sure it is not under the GM warranty as 5 years is too short a life for the core. If it is out of warranty then I would get a new core at a parts store and pay an auto heating and air conditioning repair shop to put it in. That way you beat the high dealer parts and labor price.

Hi, should be listed as heater blower motor not fans ,the fans is the ones in front of radiator. most common problems are the blower motor resistor, which is in passenger side compartment near fire wall. This is were your blower motor is also. You can check and see if its getting power to resistor, with a test light if power is at resistor, check and see if you are getting power at blower motor if no power there replace resistor. But if you have power at motor replace blower motor. If i can help further just re post. thanks
