87 bronco 2 automatic. Had a flexplate installed and it broke within 10 miles of getting fixed. Is it possible flexplate was installed backwards? Is there a spacer that goes in front of flexplate or behind? Called Ford motors and they said they don't know because their manuals don't go back that far. Lmao.

Return it where you got it fixed. Threaten to sue them OR fix it properly. This is entirely the fault of the mechanic who fixed it.

SOURCE: ignition switch

lol ok. turn the key until all the lights on the dash come on. then there is a really small hole just under the switch that you will have to put a really small screwdriver in and hit it to push the lock button. while you do that pull the switch out. and just push the new one in and thats it

SOURCE: 87 bronco automatic window not working

it is easy there are only four rivets holding it on. If you cut them off it will be easy. Then all you need is the new motor, 4 bolts and 4 locking nuts. I'm not sure what size bolts and nuts, but I think they are 1/4 inch. I just replaced the one on my bronco.

SOURCE: power window not working

It is easy to replace, there are four rivets holding it in place. I just replaced my window motor. I used a flat head screw driver to break of the rivets. You want to make sure the window is held in place while you remove the rivets. Once I removed the rivets it can out with out a problem. Then when I remounted it I used 4 bolts and four locking nut. I think they were 1/4 nuts and bolts.

SOURCE: 87 ford bronco fuel gauge problems

The problem is most likly the sending unit in the fuel tank but check the float. drain tank, there are two bolt in the straps on the fuel tank lossen enuf to lower tank to get to top to unplug wires and fuel lines once tank is on the ground thee is a ring on the top of tank holding the pump and sending unit in tap ring around with a screw driver to lossen once you have that off just pull unit out of tank and follow directions that come with sending unit. reverse removal procedure. good luck.

I have an 88 ford bronco 2 v6 automatic 2wd. I replaced The flywheel twice because it kept breaking. Someone told me I should get a new torque converter that a faulty one could be causing the flywheel...

Two major possible causes here:
1. Your starter is not engaging the teeth on the outside of the plate properly, as shown by chewed-up teeth, both on flywheel [actually called a flexplate on automatic], and on starter. Dirt trapped in between the starter and the housing will keep it from mating properly, and cost you big bucks. Shims are available to get the teeth exactly lined up.
2. OR your torque converter is indeed not true to the engine drive-shaft, causing pressure off-center. That would cause the flexplate to break out at the center. If this is how your plates broke, you probably will need a new automatic transmission.
If you also have engine oil back there, the rear bearing of the engine could be shot, indicating bad things. Have a pro check both shafts for sloppy bearings.

Automatic trans. only revers no fowerd fluid leavel ok 87 ford bronco 2 shift linkage seems ok. 4wd.

Drain the tranny

Pull the pan and look for metal shavings - you may have lost your planetary gears. If so, you need a new tranny or have this one rebuilt.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Bronco 2

Clunk-clunk? Sounds like the flywheel broke. Maybe (if it's an automatic) the torque convertor came unbolted from the flywheel. I hope that I could help you. Best wishes.

1999 Chevy Suburban K1500 Transmission problems

Possible that it was damaged before and was over looked, or the transmission was not installed flush against the back of the engine block before the torque converter bolts were attached to the flexplate causing an abnormal wear and excessive stress causing it to break.
