SOURCE: check engine reads P0740 honda civic

I am sorry to bum you guys out, but this usually means the piston in the torque converter is bad. The converter needs to be replaced along with a transmission flush.

SOURCE: location of Idle control valve on 04 CRV

It's not a easy job but I'm pretty sure you had one of those problems where the idle surges if this is the case take out the air intake tube that leads to the throttle body, get a can of carburetor fluid and spray around the throttle body. You will need someone to start the car and hold the gas peddle to 2500 rpm while you do this the car will shut of when you do this, restart the car and repeat the process until half of the can is used up. Now check your antifreeze level fill if needed and reset you check engine light. Now you can take the idle air back and get your money.

whether it is the smaller (4R70w) or the bigger (E4OD), the solenoids are under the pan. The E4OD solenoids are in one big block where the other trans has them seperated

Honda CRV won't to go into gear

If an automatic, put your foot on the brake first of course. If it won;t go into gear although in drive, check the lower gear selector solenoid pair, It is easy to remove and clean. It is under a metal cap with 3 10mm bolts. Front right passengers side of automatic tranny, 96 to 2002 Civics and Accords and CRV. Whack it on its face a few times and blow it out with a compressor. Use a pencil and a rag to keep from losing all your fluid when you take it off. Check the sound of the click with a 12 volt battery. Sometimes the solenoids get stuck if the fluid gets varnished or if it sits too long. The upper solenoid pair is not so touchy. Bottom solenoid will sometimes prevent starting out in first and will go straight to 2nd or 3rd from start. Also some creep in neutral.

Honda crv 2003 brake light fuse

For a 2003 Honda CRV, disconnect the horn fuse (#7), located in the under hood fuse box. This will also kill the rear lights. My underhood fuse box did not match glvenu's pic above, didn't have the 2 fuses circled together. The #7 fuse in my CR-V is located below the single fuse circled in the pic above.
