2004 ford expedition won't start replace fuel pump

Fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. You have to drop tank to gain access. Try changing the fuel filter which should be located underneath near the drivers door next to the frame

Trying to locate Fuel Filter. Where is the Fuel Filter located on a 2004 Ford Expedition???

Locate the fuel filter underneath the vehicle near the rear door, driver side. On most models, you will see a plastic cover-about ten inches long-between the frame rail and the fuel tank. Remove the cover by inserting a flathead screwdriver along the cover tab and rotating the screwdriver. good-day!

2003 Expedition. Fuel system loses pressure if it sits for a while w/ engine turned off. Symptom: Crank for several seconds (5-10) to build up pressure, re-crank & engine will start immediately. ...

seem to get this problem with the 4 litre jeep engine where you have to crank for a second then twice and it starts on teh thrid crank ,and i havent been able to fathom it out as yet ,but the explorer has a electronic voltage switch on top of the tank thats is operated by the immobilisor ,So what i would do here is to remove the fuel tank and join the two big wires together which effectivly by-passes this switch and i think this may cure your problem .Lower tank on a jack a bit then disconnect the multiplug and the petrol pipes ,join the two wires on this switch which is on top of the sender /pump unit ,pump the fuel out to lighten the load using the fuel pump with two wires to it ,then lift tank back up and reconnect ,good idea to remove the sender unit and check the gauze filter on the end of sender unit whilst you have it out .and check for rust in the bottom of the tank

My 2004 ford expedition cranks but won start, I disconected the fuel line at the fuel filter and there is not fuel pumping when I crank the engine. I checked fuse, realay and inertia cutoff switch and they...

Yes. Unfortunately, it sounds like it is your fuel pump, and if it is, I believe it's located in the gas tank. Would be extremely hard to replace it yourself unless you have the proper tools, jacks, a lift for the car, etc.... If you decide to do so, write back and I'll provide step-by-step instruction.

My 2004 Expedition is idles rough sometimes to the point that it dies. I have never had any problem at all with this vehicle. It has almost a 100,000 miles and all that I have done is change the oil and...

Sounds like the fuel injectors are dirty. run a bottles of STP or other fuel injector cleaner in the next two tanks of gas. Also if not done before change the fuel filter inline from the tank. Or maybe change the air filter, especially if you have been driving in an area that is very dusty. If the filter is clogged or full it will restrict the flow. These are some cheap fixes. If they done work then you can have the injectors cleaned at a shop but that is a bit more expensive. I hope this helps.

2004 Chevy Malibu. Cranks but won't start up. Where is the fuel pump located? Where is the fuel tank located?

The pump is in the tank, the tank is in the rear (follow the big hose from where you fill it up) but dont just go put a pump in, check fuel pressure and make sure the pump is indeed getting power before replacing it. I cant tell you how many people replace a pump for no reason. I would have a shop check it for you.

I have a 2005 expedition that the fuel gauge will not work i already checked the float inside the tank that works fine, what else can i check?

It is most likely the sender that the float is connected to. You can try to use 'sea-foam' which works sometimes, but may need a new sender.

HOw difficult is it to change a fuel pump for this expedition

not to bad, the less gas in the tank the better, just remove driveshaft, put a moveable jack setup to hold tank up when straps removed (note the more gas the heavier) these tanks are big make sure its supported. then remove filler hose and vent hoses going to tank, then in frt of tank remove lines there are 3 preasure ,return and vapor, now slowly drop tank until you can unplug connector to pump asm, drop tank keep a look to make sure nothing is still connected, once down remove ring pull pump asm out, hope this helps, drain tank when out lot easy to put back.
