I have a 2013 vw Passat that needs a new transmission

This is one of those Yes/No answers. VW did use the same engines and transmissions in different models but there would have been slight differences depending on the model it was in. Your better off finding a transmission for a 2013 Passat. *Note* I am not 100% sure but the beetle transmissions might be usable.

Where does the transmission fluid go in a 1998 vw passat?

VW transmissions are seal and only take a special type of transmission fluid. Need to buy the correct type of fluid from your local VW dealer.
As for this being your problem, might want to verify first by checking to see if you have any codes in the transmission control module or the engine control module.

I want to find out more on the vw passat alarms

I'd suggest you join VW Vortex forum and post your question under your VW model discussion forum. You have a higher rate of hitting it dead on for your car solutions and how fast you receive suggestions. Just hit the address abive to take you there. Any VW forum will work and not necessarily VW Vortex, I just happen to use them.
Please rate any suggestions given in your search for a solution. Thank you.

I have 99 vw jet ta it give me code p0730 tyranny not shifting properly. Just replaced my tyranny with used one?

No, do not replace your transmission, the G68 sensor is not reading correctly, (input pulse sensor) It is right next to your transmission cooler (on the top of the transmission) Either it is not getting the signal or the sensor is not workng. If the sensor is working correctly, it may need the gap between the sensor and the (exciter ring) reduced. I have fixed over 50, 01M VW transmissions, that the dealer said was junk. When it was a simple sensor problem.

Let me guess, seems like it's stuck in third gear from take off? Reverse and (manually shifting it into first) work's fine? It's like the transmission is slipping and not shifting?

Even if you replace the trans with a used one the sensor will still not work. and it will act exactly the way it does now.

VW put two different sensor's on that car that year.

The part number's are:

01M927321 (no wire)

or

01M927321a (with extention wire)

Transmission Control Module

We are not a parts service, but try an internet search for used VW parts, there are many VW only wrecking yards, that is your best chance of finding it. Also call VW and see if they sell a rebuilt module.

3 LETTER TRANSMISSION CODE

the transmission and its control unit must be compatible. So, no, you should find the same code transmission.
