there's a possibility that it might be the socket that the bulb actually goes into. my break light did something similar to that. the socket only cost about 8 bucks from the dealer.
Check your throttle sensory ($80.00) and then check the battery amp reading. I have the same problem, and after I changed the throttle sensor and put in a new battery, it has not cut off since. Also, as soon as you replace the throttle sensor, if needed, the light will stay off.
