Check the switch on the brake pedal to ensure it is still engaging the pedal's shaft.

Yes, when the witch is not contacting the brake pedal arm, the brake light do not turn off.

Sometimes the small rubber stopper that pushes the switch will wear out and fall out causing the switch to indicate on.

I have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the ABS light constantly stays on. Had breaks done a year ago. any solutions?

Brake work has nothing to do with a check light
or ABS light on dash
You have an ABS System Malfuntion or failure
Retrieve the code,diagnose,and repair

Wheel Speed Sensors are common item to fail

You should have had this taken care of a long
time ago, as soon as the light came on

I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee and the brake lights wont work

there's a possibility that it might be the socket that the bulb actually goes into. my break light did something similar to that. the socket only cost about 8 bucks from the dealer.

ENG CHECK LIGHT IS ON , AND CAR CUT OFF AWHILE DRIVING

Check your throttle sensory ($80.00) and then check the battery amp reading. I have the same problem, and after I changed the throttle sensor and put in a new battery, it has not cut off since. Also, as soon as you replace the throttle sensor, if needed, the light will stay off.
