To locate the freeze plugs, use a mechanics mirror and look.on both ends of the heads and both sides of the block. But something telks me it is not a freeze plug. Did the engine overheat before you left it? Was there any coolant on top of the engine? If so, look for a sensor on top. If you let the car sit overnight, without there being no more coolant loss than shown in the pic, it is more likely to be a pin-hole in the upper radiator hose. Also, locate and check the coolant-temperature sensor.

If you are sure that it is antifreeze and reservoir is full, start up your car and put it on car ramps or a rack and find the location of the leak. You can run the car until temp gauge registers mid-temp especially in cold weather. A fan blowing on the motor will help cool engine. Good luck finding the leak.

Leaking coolant after radiator replacement

If you are talking about the reservoir that hose is the overflow hose.
Its possible the shop did not release all of the air pockets from the system and some coolant came out with the air bubbles.
The tank should be about half full hot and cold.

The low coolant sensor is in the resivor where you put the coolant in. Since you drove it such a short distance the thermostat probably did not open to allow the coolant to pass. There is a skid plate underneath the car you can remove to find the source of the leak.

2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z-71. Coolant loss with no noticeable puddles or wet connections.

First- When was the last time you checked it & it was full?
Second- Is a lot missing (1/2 gallon)?
Third- check the oil dipstick for any antifreeze in there or any white smoke from the exhaust, that would indicate a possible head gasket leak.
Fourth- Do you smell antifreeze inside the truck? Look for a small leak under the glove box in the dashboard for the heater core.
Hope this helps

Antifreeze/water leaking . puddle underneath van already got new thermostat, radiator is full overflow box full. can't see where leak is coming from. either from below or above view is blocked by other...

May not be either. Does the van run hot? If it doesn't then the coolant when it is heated is going to the overflow reservoir and if that fills up then out the overflow line to the driveway or the garage floor but everything is O.K.

I am not sure if it the water pump, but we are losing water and there does not seem to be any leak in the coolant reservoir.

A water pump would not likely cause loss of water, mainly overheating problems.First fill the radiator full and the overflow full, you can use water to do this,it is not necessary to waste antifreeze. You do not need a 100% mix of antifreeze.During winter where it gets below freezing, you really only need about 70% antifreeze to prevent freeze.Maybe a little more if you are 1 or 2 states from Canada. If you open the hood and let the car run, watch the tubes and the radiator and the hoses, follow anything hooked up to the radiator. If you end up getting a big leak or puddle, dilute it down with tons of water.Birds for some reason like the taste of antifreeze however it kills them.Good luck! It want hold any clutch fluid and the clutch is going to the floor

Either a line is ruptured, or the slave cylinder or master cylinder has failed. Is it leaking fluid? If you see puddles under the car, you have a rupture. If not, it's either the slave or master that has failed. Start with the slave, simply because it's less work and usually a lot less money.
