SOURCE: Changing blinker on 2007 Pontiac G6

It's a monster pain to get to them, but it's doable. Once you empty the trunk, you'll see 4 black knobs - approx 1.5 inches in diameter. You'll need to remove all of these (they just unscrew, but they are plastic, so be careful not to strip the threading) in order to access the rear light assembly.

They're in there snug, but once you find the appropriate sized socket (I wish I could recall well enough to tell you what size, b/c I remember that it WAS an odd size), you'll have to remove all 3 bolts and then push the whole assembly out from inside the trunk.

Once the assembly is out, you will see the rear of the sockets, which simply push and turn to get the lamps out of. As long as you have everything open, I suggest changing ALL of the lamps (brake, tail, and turn signal) on BOTH sides, since the lamp life for all of these is about the same and it's such a pain to get to them in the first place.

SOURCE: need to remove heater core on 1992 Pontiac

Remove the silencer panel above the passenger's foot well and remove the glove box, that will give you access to the heater core from the inside. Remove the access cover and hoses from the engine compartment (easier to access from under the vehicle) and carefully remove the caulking / sealant. Make sure those surfaces are clean so you can apply the new sealant when you re-install the access cover. Clean out the air box as best you can before re-installation or you will never get rid of the coolant smell.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

The sound deadener under the carpet is probably trashed. Use a wet-vac to remove most of the fluid from the material and foot well, but you are better off replacing it as soon as possible before it rots and causes health problems.

SOURCE: AC/heater fan squeaks when running how to replace

it must be cut away within the surrounding plastic circles and reinstalled with dealer blower install kit. It's not the worst thing GM has done for design, but it's pretty bad.

SOURCE: Need to remove the interior

I think you are opening up a can of worms and at the end of the day you will wish you had gone to a dealer and paid 15 bucks to have them do it. I have never seen a vehicle fuse box which requires special tools to get at, the thinking is that fuse replacement can be done fairly quickly, generally they even provide a little plastic puller tool for those without fingernails. There are however special tools for pulling inside trim panels without damage, if you must, go buy one of those.

If you google around you will find many little horror stories about do it yourself remote reprogramming. Put the jumper wire between these two connectors on the diagnostic interface, turn on the ignition, but do not start it and hold the button down on the remote for 4 seconds. Now tow the car to a dealer and spend hundreds!

I had a nice GM dealer reprogram a remote once for free as i had them change the oil and rotate the tires, plus they have a little meter thing which checks the remote so you know it is putting out a signal.

Remove dash panel 2008 g6 pontiac

Preparation
  • Have the car's air conditioning system discharged at the dealer's service department or at another shop with a licensed air conditioning technician.
  • Drain the engine coolant at the radiator, opening the drain fitting at the bottom of the radiator and the cap on the reservoir and letting the coolant pour into a large container.
  • Disconnect the battery's negative cable, loosening the cable clamp nut with a socket or crescent wrench.
Trim Covers
  • Place the transmission in Neutral (you need to press the brake pedal with the ignition switch on), then pull the center trim panel rearward on the bottom. Pry the panel's clips off as you move upward and and remove the panel.
  • Pop the triangular-shaped hazard flasher switch out of the instrument panel -- you can reach the back of the switch and push it out once you remove the center panel -- and unplug the switch's electrical connector.
  • Tilt the upper steering column cover up and release the four lock rings to remove the upper cover. Remove the three fasteners for the lower cover -- you need a screwdriver with a hex socket -- tilt the column lever down and remove the lower cover.
  • Remove the three screws for the instrument cluster bezel with a Philips screwdriver and pry the bezel loose.
  • Pry off the trim panels at the sides of the instrument panel with a trim stick or similar dull, flat-bladed tool. Unscrew and remove the cover at the bottom of the panel with the screwdriver.
  • Open the small cover on the A-pillar trim panels, remove the ***** within the cover using your Philips screwdriver and pry off the panels with the trim stick. Pry around the upper trim panel and remove it.
  • Remove the fasteners for the knee bolster below the steering wheel with the screwdriver -- you may also need to remove the data link connector by pressing its side tabs and disconnecting it -- and remove the panel.
  • Open the glove box and remove the mounting screws at the top corners of the compartment using the Philips screwdriver to remove it.
  • Main Panel
    • Disconnect the heater hoses and the refrigerant lines from the firewall using pliers and/or a wrench (a socket wrench may work best). Plug the fittings to block contaminants from entering.
    • Unbolt the heater module at the dashboard plate's front end using the socket wrench.
    • Disconnect all of the electrical connectors on the instrument panel. Pry off all the
    • switches from the panel using your trim stick.
    • Slide both of the front seats all the way to the rear.
    • Remove the two mounting fasteners for the steering column -- these will likely require the hex-socket screwdriver -- and let the column rest near the floor.
    • Unbolt the panel's center support bracket from the floor with your wrench.
    • Remove the mounting fasteners at both ends of the instrument panel with the wrench/Philips screwdriver and pull the panel away. Disconnect any remaining electrical connectors that were previously concealed and remove the panel.

Where is the heater core located at on the 93 caprice ,is it behind the glove box ,or do I have to remove the whole dash

WOW, sorry it has taken so long for someone to see and respond to your question. You've probably figured it out on your own by now, but if not, here is your answer. The heater core in your Caprice is located behind the glove box. To gain access, you have to remove the lower right dash insulator panel (below the glove box) and than the glove box. Remove any vaccuum lines ( mark their locations.) Then remove the lower instrument panel brace and then the heater core cover. Remove the heater core clamp bolt and clamp. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core on the left hand side of the engine compartment( looking at the engine from the front of the car.) Then remove the heater core.

Replacing the heater core i need to see where the screws are in the black box

Check this procedure for 1993 Ford Taurus 3.0L FI 6cyl REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
(see Figures 1 and 2)

Be sure to consult the laws in your area before beginning any procedure which requires servicing the air conditioning system. In some states, it is illegal to perform repairs involving refrigerant unless the work is done by a certified technician.

CAUTION When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by the ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.
When removing the instrument panel, it may be beneficial to have a friend or assistant help you.

No heat, and I want to replace the heating core, need directions

Heater Core REMOVAL & INSTALLATION CAUTION
Never open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Also, when draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantities. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.
