My tdv6 disco 2005 is shutting down when going up hill towing a caravan when the revs are over 3000

Reference my tdv6 disco 3 i have just replaced the accelerator pedal, it now has a lot more response and a lot more pick up and it actually kicks down when you need it to. till i replaced this it did not realise that it was not kicking down properly maybe just maybe this will be the problem.

Why does my 2009 dodge grand caravan shut off while I'm driving?

I had a similar problem with my 2002 Ford F-150. It turned out to be a loose battery terminal cable. I don't know if that's your problem but worth looking into it.

diesel engines have loads of pulling power(towing/loaded)but you need to use the gears to keep the revs at peak torque.1st is a crawler gear(very low ratio).put car in 3rd going down steep hills saves the gearbox overheating.....

What gear to drive in when towing a trailer with toyota camry

Whatever gear the car needs to have the moter spinning without full throttle.Auto and manual are driven differently.Up hill, downhill.Mostly,if its manual you wait a bit longer to change gears.E.g.Normal change revs,3000 rpm,go to 3500rpm with the trailer on.Auto, use the gear selecter and put it back to 3 instead of D and when the car has enough speed, then into D.Drive the auto like a manual on hills etc.to help it.Don't forget that braking distances almost double when you have a trailer on.Hope this helps
