Is there a way to disable the transponder chip functionality in a 1999 jeep wrangler. I would like to be able to get keys made without the transponder and still have them work.
You have to measure the resistance across the key and get a resistor of the same value at radio shack and jump it across the wires at the security box, this way the security system thinks the key is always inserted. We did this with 1989 firebird some years ago and it worked great.

the transponder is part of the sonar devise,and various 64 pin intergrated circuit chips used a buffer 32 bit magnetude comparitor in my schematics in the body tube of microscopeic magenfacation sensor
there eight major components inside the body tube,with two different angeles from the main mirrors which refract into the grating of sample lens of the telescope.one side is just the telescopes basic amplified vision,and the other uses a yag rod laser which is projected into prismatic separation chamber,to project light amplfied by stimulation of radiation past prizmatic light separation chamber into gyroscopeic liqiud lens spinning which would above a sonar devise to determine distance of objects.this second sample lens has properties of a microscope instead of a telescope.a computer would combine both views to graph obects in space and determine distance from the spacecraft.there is many other details i could mention.
