No , they are different. Manual transmissions require a clutch that engages with flywheel, thus manual transmission flywheel is much thicker/heavier and designed to mate with clutch assembly. Automatic is thinner/lighter as they only have to mate engine to torque converter.
im assuming this is an automatic. Provided that it's full of tranny oil, you may want to try changing the transmission oil and filter. If that doesn't do it, you could try changing the shift / speed sensor.
First make sure you know what your trany came out of . honda did not go hydro until 92 all i do are honda swaps . get on e-bay they offer a kit or you will need clutch master and slave cylinder and the lines out of a doner car .Good luck and hope this helps you!
u need to get a spedo gear out of any cable b series trans and use it then it is a little c clip kinda looks like what holds a door handle on u can find them at any autopart store
