I have a 2005 Mini Cooper s 5 speed. The transmission fluid was changed after noticing the car reving over 5000 rpms. Now it is reving from all gears and is slow to accelerate. When it does go faster it...
It sounds like the transmission was slipping
& the fluid should not have been changed
Now it slips so you can not use it
Regardless of what was or wasn't & what
if anything could have been diagnosed &
resolved
The trans is done & has to come out & be rebuilt
or a reman installed
Once they slip & if you drive that way, ten miles
you finish them off
Surprised you would use it like that & not gone
to a trans shop, as soon as the tach flaired
Now you looking at $4,000 or more for the fix
For the rest of your life, change the fluid along
with the power steering fluid, every 3 years or less,
& you may avoid that again in the future
Whom ever did the fluid change, surely has no experience
& never road tested to find a problem, BEFORE changing the
fluid
In most case, the owner changes the fluid thinking that
is a fix,it never was, fluid is changed because it's ability
to remove heat & it's additive packages break down every
2 years
IF that is a manual trans then you have a clutch problem
