Change the ignition switch in tthe steering colum not the keyswitch, but the electrical part, which sends 12volts to "all " components.if it has malfunctioned,it gives the same symptoms as the camshahaft s/crankshaft sensor engine turns, but wont crank.reason is,it is shorted, needs replacing.I replaced mine a year ago.(15.00) Orielly's) They are easy to install yourself.located on left side of steering column take the bottom part of cover off first then lift top (gently)There you will see the plug in ,and the switch

SOURCE: car has no spark or injector pulse(new ecm, crank sensor)

Check the fuse for the injectors, some vehicles have the injectors and coil running on the same circut, at the same time check the fuse for the ignition.

SOURCE: 2003 stratus cam sensor replaced still unresolved

you bypassed the wires that connect to the sensors? that would have been my first guess the harness that plugs into the sensor. after that i would check the ground connection from the ecm. wouldn't hurt to check the battery posts too. if the battery posts are oxidized you can have all kinds of goofy electrical problems. hope that helps.

First I guess you meant "it would NOT start on cold days. I would not have gone to something as exotic as those fixes first. My suggestion is either a battery issue (which is quite often the case in cold weather or you have a bad main connection (either positive or ground). You can check that by a battery tester (I use my portable charger/jump start unit). That will tell you how much the voltage and current drops when you switch the ignition. How old is the battery? How many cold days a year do you have?

The next thing I would look at is the starter motor. After a decade the contacts could be oily/dirty or even oxidize creating too much impedance.

With either cause as simple drive could help things for a short period. Do you drive it everyday?

LOL, my Uncle used to use a mallet to shake things up a bit.

Good luck!

Engine turns over but car won't start

run fault codes and check for cam/crank position sensor failure.. Check that the cam shaft is actually turning and that the belt is not broken. Check immobiliser for proper operation.

04 dodge neon showing P0325 and P0340 codes at same time.

Code 0325 is for a Knock sensor. Code 0340 is for the Cam sensor #1 if this is an engine with 2 heads and it is an indication of a single sensor on single head engines.

So if you do have a multiple hed engine, you may have removed the good sensor and left the bad sensor in the other head.

Remember to wipe the computer memory after installing new parts.
