I would need more information such as the manufacturer and model number, I assume it's a DAF 44 but who makes that? In GENERAL
If PROTECT or PROTECTOR is flashing in the display of an audio device such as an A/V receiver, or home theater system (hts), there may be an external speaker issue or connection issue that is triggering the protection circuit

Radio works ok, nothing from the cd player its like there is no power to the unit, nothing happens when you insert a disk or press the disk button just dead, any ideas. cheers Nick. ps its a standard...

If the radio works but the CD player doesn't it's something internal to the unit. The radio and CD player get their power source from the same wire that goes into the unit.

The player will not eject the cd but it will not play it either.

I know it sound crazy, but turn the system on, press eject while using a PLASTIC knife to lift the CD in the player. If the system is stock also try disconnecting the radio fuse for about 10 minutes or so with the car off. Reconnect it to see if the radio resets. You'll know the power completely went out because you'll have to reset your stations. By Resetting, hopefully the issue will solve itself. In a few of the system issues I've seen, when the motor won't open the faceplate, or the CD player won't give the CD back. I usually remove the faceplate or disconnect the negative side of the battery for about ten minutes. Try this if the fuse removal doesn't work. Good look. Let me know how it goes. there are other things to try.

CD Player won't eject of load CD

If it's not even yours yet, don't do anything to it. Ask whoever owns it what is wrong and if they will have it repaired before you buy it. If you were driving my car to see if you wanted to buy it and you started taking it apart, I'd have to beat you really well!!!

2004 Chevy Silverado factory Stereo, CD is stuck in player, sounds like it is trying to eject but won't!

I searched quick and couldn't really find anything on a manual eject button. Flip through the manual a little bit and see what it has about the radio. If all else fails and you aren't worried about possibly breaking the stock cd player, some skinny needle nose pliers should reach in far enough to grip the cd and you can pull it out. But there is a good chance you could break the cd player in doing so.
