I have 1998 Nissan altima and I made a mistake and ran it without oil and I ended up putting too much oil. My mechanic drained the oil and put the right amount in but it has a slow takeoff

Taking the oil out and putting the right amount in.My mechanic took out my spark plugs and polished them up.

Wierd as it sounds, but it has gone into fail safe mode. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 1 minute. The ecm will go back to normal. Wow. You must have put alot of oil in it. No worries. It's all good.

You are probably going to have to change the spark plugs. They could have gotten fouled out from the oil based fuel.

1998 nissian altima engine floods at random

gosh, nissan spent 6 million dollars replacing faulty/leaking fuel injectors around that time ...maybe its worth a trip down to the dealer and do a campaign/recall search on your car...might be a car that was covered under that campaign and you might get injectors covered

The engine seems to have oil, but the light is on in my 1995 nissan altima

The oil light means you have low oil pressure but not necessarily low oil.
Low oil pressure can lead to serious engine problems and should be fixed right away.

I just had the head and radiator fixed on my 01 altima but now theres no oil pressure do anybody know why?

Check oil pump, that is probably not working. If the oil pump is fine you have a big oil leak.
