2000 dodge neon when starting car the word fuse comes on and flashes on dash

That is a pretty random assortment of issues that probably require an auto-electrician, but try the fuses first.

Fuse # 9 - 30 amp under hood fuse box . Fuse # 4 40amp under hood fuse box too .

Could be a bad battery but I suspect your battery cable is either loose or corroded or dirty. Before you pull the battery disconnect your battery cables and clean them both ends and when you put them back on make sure you have good connections and tighten good.If that does not work pull your battery and get it tested at a battery out let . they should do that for free.

Change your thermostat out! Your car may be overheating. Make sure that you are keeping the radiator fluid full.

check the fuse panel on the side of the dash on driverside. check the fuses with a test light to locate the blown fuse.

should be fuse 14 left side dash fuse box. 20 amp (yellow)

check all you r fuses. There should be 2 sets, one under the hood and another in the passenger area(driver side under dash usually)

could be a host of problems . but the most likely is the tps or throttle position sensor @ least that is where to start

Normally this means you have a fuse blown!

This year model neon had a lot of problems with the instrument cluster circuit boards, its hard for me to say thats what it is without being there to check it.

If this is not causing problems I would just drive it until it comes on all the time then check the fuses again, it could be a fuse thats trying to go bad, you know like a light bulb that will flicker for awhile and then burn out.

The dome tight is actually a combo fuse/light. If that light is burned out; 1 the locks won't work, and 2 the odometer will flash "FUSE" and 3 the "DOOR" warning light will stay on - try replacing the bulb. If it stays on with all the doors closed, more then likely one of the switches that are built into each of the door latches is not making the correct contact to shut off the dome light/dash light. The correct fix is to replace the defective latch. The other option is to just cut the wires that feel the switch inside the door - then the car will think that door is always closed and the lights will not come on when you open that door.
