Is the a/c compressor turning on? When you turn the defroster on, the a/c compressor turns on to help remove moisture from the interior of the vehicle which in turns clears the fogging from the windows. If the a/c doesn't work, the defroster won't either.

SOURCE: 2000 Honda Accord EGR Valve Error P0401

Jason,
-after you change the part you have to reset/clear the code

-this can be done by either:
(1) using the OBD2 code reader that Autozone used OR since option 2 (below) is very quick
(2) disconnecting the battery for about 30 seconds (this will delete all codes/radio presets/etc) but it will also clear the 'check engine' code
-this is what I do AFTER i write down my radio station presets :)

-hopefully the new EGR valve resolves your issue after you CLEAR the code
...but that code just means a an insufficient amount of Exhaust Gas recirculation (pressure difference) used to keep the emissions in check
-if it comes back, then there are a few other fixes to try also

-let me know if you need further assistance
-please remember to rate me `fix-ya`if it works
thanks

SOURCE: Heater works but defrost fills inside with fog.

your heater core has probably sprung a leak.does the fog smell kinda sweet?....check the floor in the front where the floor mats are for moisture or even puddles of antifreeze.(the replacement of a heater core can be very expensive as the entire dash usually needs to be removed to access the heater core)also look under the engine near the firewall for antifreeze drips.

SOURCE: HVAC vent selector does not function. Air flow is

THe blend door seems to be stuck. When you change settings from defrost to floor air or, vent, the blend door opens and closes directing the air to the place you want it to go to. I have had some success spraying a lubricating oil such as WD40 under the dash on the blend door. You need to get under the dash with a flashlight to locate it. It looks like a flap. Spray it with a couple of shots of the WD40. Go easy on the spraying as you may be inhaling the fumes. Keep the doors and windows open to minimize the fumes. Wait about 1/2 hour and try the A/C functions. (defrost, floor, vent air)

1997 honda accord heating and defrost stopped working and doors unlock itself Not the fuses Please help

You have two problem. The heating and defrost if the blower won't come on problem most likely is either blower motor or control panel. The door locks problem is with the electronic locking system. For some reason the system is getting the unlock command. Try deactaviting the auto lock. Could also be the unlock button on key fob is stuck

1994 civic always humid inside , also poor defrost

not using the FRESH air vent on,
that is , avoid the RECIRC mode. in the heater.
RECIRC allows humidity to go to 100% (near rain)
or you have water leaks to the cab or both.
if fresh mode fails to happen, that means the heater dampers are stuck
this is covered in the FSM.
seen here.
see HVAC chapters
http://hondatech.info/downloads/Auto/Manuals/Civic/

also check if you get full heat
one reason to not get full heat is the engine thermostat is bad.
180F is normal engine heat, easy to measure; ask.

Air conditioner

sure.

what is your goal hot air, you never said,

got full fan speed? on high>? sure.
got full engine coolant heat 180F or more holding??? if not all is lost.
if car has a heater core water valve is it open>?
are the 2 heater core water tubes both fully hot,(hand test)
yes> good.
now you need air flow through the core (heater)
that means the damper most be open,, is it?

in that order. (heat)
the dampers on hondas can be complex. (10x on electric damper motors , aka, damper actuators)
see part 5 and 6 here
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=ACCORD&catcgry2=2002&catcgry3=2DR+EX&catcgry4=KA4AT&catcgry5=HEATER+UNIT

the fSM covers the complex tests of dampers, and not having
a real FSM makes this near impossible.
why , because your dampers are no like anyothers on earth.
other cars use different types. and are all unique .
unlike CABLES
unlike vacuum servos.
see>?

here are the basics for heat.

My heater in my car does'nt work, nor the defroster

You may have a bad cable. Look on the firewall toward the passenger side. There is a valve with 5/8 inch heater hose attached. Manually change the position of the valve. If you now have heat the problem is with the cable which runs from the valve to the dashboard temperature selector.

My heater puts out heat however the blower motor does no run

I am going to assume that you have the Automatic climate control on your car. it gives you an auto fan mode, and temperature options. Often the problem does not lie in the blower motor, but rather, the climate control module. Often, the blower motor only works on Auto fan mode, or on full out. It will often also only operate in certain modes, such as only in defrost mode, or panel. I have had several town cars and Grand Marquies of these era's and have had the same problems with 2 of these cars. The only good solution to the issue is to replace the climate control module, which is the panel with all of the switches for the heater controls. If you're really adventurous or cannot find the replacement part, it may be possible to hard wire the fan to a multi resistance switch, but you really got to know what you're doing.
