I have a 2000 mustang and under the dash on my brake light switch there is 2 wires connected to it, a red and black wire. Now why does my red wire keep burning in half? I have to strip it and reconnect it about 3 times a month.
Very strange. If circuit is pulling enough amps to burn up wire, one would expect fuse to blow. Is it possible something else is heating the wire, such as heater vent hose leaking, courtesy lamp bulb too close, other such? Could be that Hot Foot you are driving with, lol.
None of the fuses are blowed and the wires or brake light switch is near anything. It is very strange. I thought maybe the gauge wire was to small and it couldn't handle what was going through it. But it is a 16g wire. I thought maybe my foot kept braking it but that isn't the case either.

Have you modified anything in the brake lamp circuit, such as non-stock bulbs, added third eye lamp, ect?
I put new tail lights in. I replaced the original with LED smoked taillights but the wires was messed up before I changed them. I also noticed when I took the old tail lights out that one plugs to the bulb was burnt up.
