How do I reset service now alert in Volks Wagen Golf Engine No. BFQ 164449

1. Keys out of ignition- press and hold in trip odometer reset button "0.0" on right hand side of display
2. Still holding this button down, insert key into ignition and put to the on position without starting the car.
3. Display will read "service now"
4. let go of the "0.0" button and depress the "m" button on the left hand side of the display. this will re-set the service reminder. There is no confirmation on the display other than the words "service now" will disappear.
You can confirm that the service reminder has been reset, or check how many miles/days remain until service at any time by taking key out of the ignition and holding in the trip reset "0.0" button for between 3 and 5 seconds. The MFD will display miles and hours until next service.

Reset timing belt light on quantum 2.5 diesel

Try this: 1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it up one notch. The dashboard lights will not turn on. 2. Hold down your trip meter button next to the odometer. 3. When you are holding the trip meter button down, turn your key to the next notch. So, the dashboard lights will be on, but the car will not be started. Do not start the car. 4. Continue holding the trip meter button until the light turns off. You have now reset your Maintenance Required, or Maint Reqd, light

2008 Toyota 4Runner maintenance light is on eventhough I did changed the oil. How do I reset it?? I tried one of the suggestions which included turning the key to on and resetting the trip miles but...

You were close with re-setting the trip miles. Here are the steps:

(1) Turn key on, but do not start car. Keep pushing the trip miles button until you get to the odometer miles (the total mileage of the car), not the trip miles.

(2) Trun key off.

(3) Push and HOLD the reset button with one hand, then turn the key on (do not start the car) with the other.

(4) While you continue to HOLD in the reset button, you will notice the various warning lights blink and turn off. After about 10 seconds, release the reset button.

(5) Turn key off, then turn key back on and start car. The maintenance light will be off.

I changed oil on my 2006 Tacoma pick up, how do I turn off my maint light. Tks John

Try this procedure.

1. Turn the ignition key up one notch. (The dash lights will not be on)

2. Press and hold down the Trip Meter Button next to the odometer.

3. While continuing to press down on the Trip Meter Button turn the ignition key to the next notch or the "Run" position, the dash lights will come on but do not start the engine.

4. Continue to press down on the Trip Meter Button until the Maintenance Required light turns off.

The Maintenance Required light should now be reset.

Turn off the mainttenace light after you change the oilhow do you

This is the reset proceedure for a 2008 Highlander with a key-type ignition:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change

Car was runing, and then stop runing. it has gas.

Hi there I have the same problem I start the car and the moment I move my hand away after turning the ignition the engine shuts off lights still go on in and out of the car though, then I pull the key out then start again and it goes sometimes while travelling the engine will just shut down. Called AA (Break down help service) and a guy came and he said to me that its the ignition switch he showed me where and told me to try and put something next to the ignition so it wouldnt shut down and also said to me that its common with HONDA CRV'S. He also said that if while driving home and it does the same thing to turn the engine on and rev the engine and leave your hand where you have put the key in the ignition. I know weird right well I was tested tonight and remembered what he said and drove like that home with my right hand on the key in the ignition and the other on the steering wheel to control I know stupid me but i wasnt going to leave my car parked on the side of some road and come back the next day and its gone. Anyway a solution for this problem would be to go to your nearest mechanics garage and just ask to get your ignition switch checked and fixed if need be the guy from AA said to that the other cause would be my alarm in my car. Im going to get this sorted tomorrow.
I hope this helps or not....
