I have a 1985 Dodge D 150 prospector edition its blowing cold air from the heater what could cause that

Probably an airlock in pipes or matrix,try bleeding hoses.

consult it to the nearest technician on your place that might help you solve that problem

If it has a nut on the arm where it connects, remove the nut and hit down on the arm where the elbow joins and it should come free, don't hit too hard tho

the heater vacuum motor and lines needs to be checked.Also get the blend door checked.

check coolant level if full try replacing the thermostant,i ve checked of few of these and most were just low on coolant, i would start there. hope this helps.

If the temperature gauge is reading normal, have the heater control valve checked.

I would first check to see if both heater hoses are hot to the heater.
if 1 is hot and 1 is cold the heater control valve is closed or the heater core is plugged.
