My thought, replacing the headlight switch may fix your problem? Then, I looked up the cost, tax and all 3 or 4 hundred bucks, whew, that is pricey. Maybe you can find one in a salvage yard that will work? With an interior dimmer, did you try turning it all the way down?
Also, there shows to be a panel fuse 5amp in your fuse box, pull the fuse, see if light goes out? At the least it won't run the battery down, then plug the fuse back in when needed.
I did think about using an on/off switch mounted somewhere convenient to control that lamp, that isn't the proper fix.
you have a short to grownd same weare under the dash that fuse control 7 diferent systems automatic day and night mirror memori seats ad mirrors instrument panel warning and alarms sir air bag system and accesorie power
Well, the mirrors would be on the circuit with the courtesy lights. The door locks and windows would be on different circuits. Why can't you unlock the driver's or passenger door with the key and open it with the door handle ?
The courtoesy fuse usually does those or one of the silver circuit breakers but the miror switches do go bad because sometimes if they are in thecenter consol ccoffee and soda get spilled on them and over time get stickey and gummed up and if on the door water if we forgot and left a window open and it rained and jsut normal wear and tear
