Other electrical items such as crank or cam sensors, ingnition modules, coils can act this way as they can have hair line cracks in a winding which opens up as they heat up. Even a fuel pump can do this, so using diagnostic tests such as fuel pressure gauge and timing lights (to check if spark is getting interrupted) are sometimes helpful. These are hard problems to locate as the part may bench test good but still fail in use.

Hi there my mazda etude 160i wont start at normal operating temp must leave for few minutes then will start again

When you shut off a fully warmed up engine, the temp rises as all water circulation has stopped. This extra high temp can cause electronic parts to fail which then work again as they cool. Somewhat rare, but possible coil/module or crank/cam sensor issue. Also may have leaky injectors which bleed down when you stop and flood the engine. Sitting lets excess fuel evap and then will start again. Just my thoughts.

I have a 2005 Nissan Hardbody 3.3l V6 4x4. In the morning, you start and drive for long hrs no issues. The problem starts after switching it off, and when its hot. It cuts off, you crank up until batt

Sounds like a "HOT SOAK" problem.
Starter gets hot,it lacks power to crank the engine.

Possible "Vapor lock".

Check for engine codes.Possible bad temp sensor for ECU.

If fuel delivery is suspect ,try starting fluid into intake when "no start" occurs to diagnose fuel problem.

1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4 360 engine starts when cold turn it off after it reaches operating temp will crank wont start no voltage to coil inlet and outlet

run fault codes and check for ambient air temp/water temp/cam/crank position servos/sensors faults. Something that is controlled by temperature that is connected to the cpu is telling it not to start as it is out of parameters.

Car never reaches operating temperature (cold weather) thus little to no heat inside

change the thermostat, sounds like it could stuck open and wont allow the engine reach operating temp, also test the constant control relay module located to the right of the battery as your facing the front of the car, also test coolant temp switch it might be defective and producing a high voltage that would cause the fans to constantly operate no matter the temp. Hope this helps

2000 maxima has erratic idle on cold days and will stall out on extremely cold days. Also, have noted antifreeze leak (on ground) on those really cold days. Car runs fine once it reaches normal operating...

It sounds like an engine temp sensor is open.. When your engine is cold or anti-freeze is cold your ECU or ECM gets a signal from the temp sensor for cold engine start. It would make sense that it works fine when hot because the resistance on the sensor is a lot lower. Take an ohm meter if you have one and check the resistance across the temp sensor pins. When the engine is cold the resisitance should be really high. Start and warm up your car to normal temp and check it again. It should be a lot lower now. If not replace it. Hope this helps.

Very bad idol and run condition.

sounds like a possible water temp issue... check your thermostat and/or water temp sensor. when you first start your engine the computer uses the water temp reading to do a 'cold start' scenario, more fuel. once you reach normal operating temp the fuel should be cut back. if the thermostat is not opening and closing properly this can cause strange readings from the water temp sensor (which is mounted near the thermostat)... unlikely the sensor is bad, but a possibility... more likely the thermostat.

2000 chevy blazer starting issues

swng,
1) Is the service engine soon light ever on when engine is running?
2) Per your description I would look at the ECT sending unit. It sends coolant temperature information the the Engine Control Module for proper fuel delivery for cold engine start. It may have lost its calibration.
Let me know.
