Hugh, you would need to charge the battery on the car, do you have a battery charger you could run to the car via an extension cable? also is the other vehicle suitable for jumping this one, a vehicle with a to high ampage on the battery could blow fuses on your jaguar.
When the dials go left to right thats the computer teling everything to recalibrate, factory reset. If the battery is just doing this all the time then it sounds like it i beyond being jumped and can no longer hold charge. You will most likely need a new battery, simle enough to fit yourself if you want to save some money on gargae bills. Get back to me if you need further advice Regards

I had my transmission rebuilt,I tore first one up in snow ,put in bone yard tranny lasted 18 months. Now i HAD A REAL REBUILD DONE CAR IS PURRING. Note: The shift issue, tap on the top of the shifter I use my club,it works everytime. It is currenly 5 degrees f outside. When it warms, I am am going to disconnect that interlock, that locks it into park, it is under the console. Another tip replace the shifter bulb with an LED cluster. I am an electricain , industrial type, I like to troubleshoot,this shift issue will agrivate. Again tap on thetop of the shifter,the linkage probably not getting proper voltage.

The MAP sensor does the same thing as a TPS Throttle position sensor Tells computer at what angel the intake butterfly is at non fixable Replace the part
try unplugging the one plug in front of trans it has 2 or 3 wires in it . its below the battery it is the lockup solinoid and they go bad and keep the trans in lockup mode and will do what your saying.
iF YOU ARE SURE IT'S NOT GETTING FUEL, Look pn the rear unterior side panels dor any covers that come off. There should be a cabe to pull to reset.. Good luck
Don't know if this will help...had a nissan multi that drove me absolutely bananas ... die randomly ... use starter motor to crank to the side of the road ... scratch head look in and around engine , fuel tank ... try again and starts and gets me home !
Turns out that there was only one ground from ECU and trace it to 1 10 mm bolt on engine that I had not tightened when working on something else...long time past before it got tarnished enough to quit making contact but early on it gave weird performance symptoms .
