My heater / defrost is not blowing warm / air. My temperature gauge is reading normal.

Probably the blend door actuator located behind the glove compartment. That is if your sure the coolant level is not low and the heater core is not clogged. To check the heater core, with the engine at operating temp, feel both heater hoses where they connect to the heater core. If they are both hot, core is circulating okay.

The heater consists of a small radiator, A inlet hose with a inline tap, connected to the engine cooling system. A return hose running from the heater radiator back to the cooling system. First place to look , the cable that controls the tap, then the tap is it jammed in the shut position . are the hoses perished or kinked, one of the above will be causing the fault.

there are two hoses running to the heater radiator from the engine cooling system , one has a inline tap that controls the flow of hot water to the heater , check the tap is open , may be the control cable is not opening the tap , or it frozen and must be replaced.

If the temp gauge is now more stable, the problem is in your heater system, not the engine cooling system.

the heater vacuum motor and lines needs to be checked.Also get the blend door checked.

My heater will not blow hot air in my 1999 Chrysler Cirrus
When the coolant flush was done, did you have the thermostat changed as well? I would have the thermostat replaced. If the temperature gauge was reading properly, but you still had warm, not hot air, it would lean more towards the heater core being clogged, but that deosn't seem to be the issue your having, so i would go with the thermostat replacement. And whereever you have the repairs done at...make sure they fully bleed all the air out of the cooling system, this could also cause poor warm-up / heating problems. Hope this helps...
