HAVE REPLACED BATTERIES AND HAD THEM CHECKED. LAST ONE ONLY LASTED A WEEK. COULD THERE BE A PROBLEM WITH THE UNIT AND WHERE DO WE HAVE IT REPAIRED?
I'm assuming this is a car/truck battery. If a new battery goes flat within a week then either the charging system is not working (warning light on dash) or some thing is draining the battery even whilst the car is parked and switched off. This could be an interior light or boot light stuck on. Another possibility is a short out in the wiring loom. Lastly it might be OVER charging and cooking the battery.
To check for the battery being drained when the vehicle is not in use, put an amp meter in line to the battery earth terminal and look for any reading off Zero (0). Get an auto electrician to do this because any mistakes could lead to a battery explosion.
Do you mean that it goes dead after sitting a week or goes dead after a week while driving it?
