2007 tundra tailgate lock, key will not go to unlock position.

key is worn,lock is worn,put graphite in lock

Does handle feel connected to anything? Spray wd-40 into latch area. Push in while moving handle then pull.

Try turning the wheel as you turn the key.

Try a graphite lock lubricant. It works better than wd40

some cars are fitted with a valet key/lock 3 keys supplied new 2 normal 1 with a flute running down the middle.key with flute will not unlock the tailgate/glove box.tailgate has 2 positions key upright=locks with central locking.key turned to the left,(or right,cant remember which)then released to upright,locked,needs key to access.independant of central locking.

you will need new t gate lock assembly parts inside are worn out

The key won't turn in the door lock? Spray some graphite or lubricant into the lock cylinder and work it some. If you have been using the remote all these year and never the key its probably a little rusty.

Access the lock from the inside and try unlocking it with a screwdriver.

you will need to remove the liftgate panel inside and manually unlock it the unlock acuator is made of plastic and has probably broke off very common

I know this sounds silly, but is the latch locked? If I lock mine, the latch will lift but the gate won't open.
