If your transmission is already faulty, it's unlikely to be fixed by a fluid change.
Take it to a transmission specialist - preferably a ZF specialist.

Probably wrong fluid.
You may have done more damage with wrong fluid. You don't state why you repl. TCM.

I have a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick jx it will not drive forward but will drive in reverse. I put oil in car and the transmisson fluid is full what could be the problem

95 jx
but is it 3speed or 4 speeds.
if 3speed, the lever not really going to Drive?
if that does happen the trans is bad.
if 4sp, (see od light see od switch and P/N switch that is 4speed
as is the 2 on gears, if 4speed it has a TCM brain
the tranny brain, and we can scan, it , or more accurately a jumper
clip , and the TCM flashes out codes
is the the OD lamp flashing, yes that is the TCM begging for help.

next time post trans gear counts, as we can not guess that ever
nor engine. 95 had 2 engine choices.

the 3speed also has a filter in the pan area (above)
if packed in junk,, as they all do. it will only shift hot. or not at all.
its called a full flush, with filter. not a lame drain and fill.

A/T tranny issues. (solenoid )
my auto tranny is slipping in call gears. forward and reverse?
there are no guessing, just tests.
check all fuses.
check AFT levels using the operators guide, (dont guess at ways, do it right way, as 99% dont)
so DRIVE is stuck in 1st gear, or 2nd?
the connect the jumper for the TCM, and get the flash codes.
if it says VSS is dead, then it is.
why wonder this. the TCm will not lie, it will see any bad VSS signals and report them on all cars made. but has flash codes this year.
there are 3 or 4 paths here

1; inputs to TCM wrong, sure it will shift wrong. how could it not.
2: TCM bad , it has good inputs and its outputs are wrong.
3: the TCM to tranny connections are bad, (corrosion)
4: the Solenoids have the correct inputs but fail to work.
bad solenoids or far far worse.
note the order here.. only this works unless guessing with $1500 fist of dollars is ok.

the FSM covers each tests. from 1 to 4.
for on car tests. if the solenoid tests pass its a bad tranny.

Reverse its not shifting

A/T car , right. Automatic shifting tranny !
all fracking foward gears work?
Did you scan the PCM for TCM errors. yet. if not why not?
never forget scan first. after the fuse checks.
1: check all fuses.?
2: check that side connector (elect) ok, hell reset it, pull clean put back.?
ever do the 50k service on the tranns.
3: check levels,
4: check that the correct command leaves the TCM to the tranny port.
5: if TCM is actually in REV. (12v ,0v logic inputs) for REVerse?
do the solenoid tests in the FSM? yet?>

the hope and pray methods:
a: pan off, new filter. (if filthy the oil pump starves) then pan back.
b: A: full flush.
c: all new ATF (spec ) topped off.
(Jyphphylube , will be clueless, use a REAL shop) same with Cuacklube.

the clutch packs make dust when this dust fills the filter, it needs,
to be replaced, at 50K
all cars, with like slush pumps.

Electronic transmition control

scan the TCM.
read the tranny tests there.
or buy the FSM.

too late for the 50k mile full sevice
but you can check levels, and for black ATF fluid, or metal flakes in same.

1: low fuild.
2: ;tranny pump dead.
3: ground stap on tranny missing or cut, and TCM is just window dressing, (that is, it can not command the tranny at all)
4 ;fuses blown check all fuses. in both boxes.
get a full flush and fill and filter service now, maybe it can be saved.

Reverse problem

no one could ever predict what any A/T might do.... no one, its a very complex device, 100s of parts. even a 10cent o-ring cracked can
take it all down.
baring a guessing game
and real DIY question.
1: read the FSM pages on the A/T read the tests. there.
on car A/t tranny tests.
2: Do the skipped 50k full flush filter and fluid service.????????
3; Even check levels per the operator guide(dont guess on the way to do,read HOW)
4: if this year, car has a TCM (tranny brain) do scan it now.
some TCM this old you use a jumper wire to get the flash codes from the TCM. in 1996_+ its apart of a normal OBD2 scan.
in the early 90s they went to TCM shifted transmissions.

How many litres of transmission fluid does a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T (5.7L V8) contain to be considered the proper amount of transmission fluid? Ex. The 2006 Dodge Charger R/T should take 6.7 litres of oil...

I don't know the exact liters, but if you are just changing the filter it would be 5 qts, maybe 5 liters. And if you are in a total rebuild, it would be 15 qts, or say 15 liters, We don't work with liters over here. I know your 5.7 liter engine is about 340 cubic inches. A quart is real close to a liter, 3.8 liters = 4 qts. If your tranny doesn't have a dipstick, it has 2 plugs on the right side of the tranny, one for level, one for fill, If you pull the level and nothing seeps out, fill it up, till it seeps out the bottom, then put the plugs back in. The tranny will drip for a month if you let it, so when you change the filter, you never really know how much dripped out, exactly, you could measure what came out, but what if it was low to start? Check it out, hope this helps.
