P0108 - MAP Pressure Circuit High Input means that the map sensor bad pressure or sensor defect
test terminals connector for ground and current if ok map defect
hope it helps
place a ampmeter on battery wait 5 minutes and read the draw .. max current 30mA. take someone to start the car and you check votlage drop during cranking (stop engine not to start only crank. starter can draw more amp then it suppose to
To clarify - - if the engine cranks the battery and starter are ok. The alternator does not come into play until the engine is running. If it cranks but won't start, you have to figure out if you are missing fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed. A mechanic would check that and if there are any trouble codes stored in the computer.
usually when you have the car running and disconnect the positive cable from the battery the alternator will keep the car running. If it dies right away, the alternator is bad. If you can, charge the battery. If you don't have a battery charger your local auto parts store will charge it for you at no cost. They can test your alternator for you as well. Are the battery terminals clean? If there is a heavy amount of corrosion on the terminals the battery will not put out enough cranking amps to start the car. I would try here first.
Always check the fluid level in each of the battery cells and top up with distilled water as required.
Using a multimeter you can assess th health of your car battery and alternator:
With the engine off, measure the volatge at thebattery terminal: it should show 12.5+ volts, anything under or around 10.5 volts indicates a shorted damaged battery cell -> bad battery!
With the engine running, the voltage reading at the battery terminal should indicate around 13.8 volts and anything under 13.5 volts and over 14.5 volts indicates a bad alternator and/or alternator regulator.
The CCA;s(cold cranking amps) are too low on your battery. When this happens your car usually only starts when its cold. Recommend testing your battery and probably replacing it. Good luck, keep me posted.
