I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am that the accelerator pedal that is not returning back after being pressed! I know there was a recall on the 03 models for this but have there been any reports of the sam

Checked with GM, no recalls on the 05 models, only the 03. Talked to my mechanic and he confirmed same issue as the 03 models.

Hi Fran , it's possible the throttle cable is bad or the throttle plate is. Disconnect the throttle cable at the throttle body and work the cable and throttle plate separately and see which is sticking. You could put a stiff spring on someplace to pull it back ! Oh does you car have cruise control , disconnect it when checking the cable and throttle body. If your not sure of what I'm saying too do , have someone apply and release the gas pedal while you look out on the engine to look for the cable moving the throttle plate. what engine does you car have ? 3.4 L V-6 , 3.1 L or 2.2L 4 cylinder

GM DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THE 2005 YET .THE RECALL FOR THE 2003 WAS DATED DEC 20 2004. THAT BEING SAID ASK FOR THE DISTRICT MANAGER. IF NO SATISFACTION KEEP GOING UP THE FOOD CHAIN. THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE THAT THEY SHOULD CORRECT.

There is a Technical Service bulletin related to "Reduced Engine Power". It has to do with water getting into a connector and causing voltage problems with the Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor. The code says nothing about any sudden acceleration or engine shut-off, but it makes sense tome that if the APP voltages are goofy, just about anything would be possible.

It is TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN Reference Number 07-06-04-019D

My '03 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo broke down. No reaction when the accelerator pressed. Any ideas? Evidently, it is not the relay switch.

i would look at the acutal gas line that goes from the tank to the input or i would look at the gas cable that goes from the pedal to the accelerator and see if it came disconnected. all you would have to do is connect that back up if it did come disconnected and then you should be good.
