Are you talking about a console mounted parking brake?
Bolted to the body under the plastic or covering. May need to replace entire assembly!

SOURCE: Releasing Parking Brake

adjust the park brake cable first (3 pedal clicks and brake should start to engage the rear wheels) then lube the park brake ratchet release parts (under the dash) with WD40, this should take care of the problem.

SOURCE: 2000 blazer parking release handle broken

You will have to look under the side panel, and you can release it with a screw driver, or get a pair of vise grips to pull the cable to release it.

SOURCE: emergency break cable broke on 2004 silverado

I had the same problem on my 2003. Open the driver door all the way. Get on your knees just outside the door. Follow the plastic tub that holds the parking brake release cable inside the truck. Start from the release lever and follow to the end of the tube. There will be a metal lever that the cable was attached to before it broke. You have to pull that lever with your hand to release the parking brake. Very Important!!!...Hold the parking brake activation pedal with your other hand when you release the brake. Let the pedal out slowly when you pull the metal release lever. The pedal will come back very fast and you could injure yourself if you are not careful. Good luck!

How to remove a parking brake release handle on a 1999 chevy blazer

Are you talking about the Foot Pedal Assembly?
Has a couple of bolts attaching it to bottom of dash and the cable running to the rear brakes. Hardest part might be unhooking the cable.

Brake parking release

Hello. Press and hold the button on the brake parking release handle and at the same time, pull up the handle hard untill you hear a click sound, that means the brake will be released. If you don't have the strength to do that, ask someone to help.

Manuel Parking brake release the parking brake is stuck and we are trying to get it released how do you do it?

Foot Park Brake...
There should be a release lever(not the main release) up at the top of the park brake arm, under the dash. Its small, 1.5 to 2 inches long. I recommend using a screwdriver to "flip It", keeping your fingers and hand and your face for that matter, away from the arm. It is spring loaded and will release/move very fast. Also it could just be that someone unitentionally stepped on the pedal really hard, and it will take the same amount of foot pressure to release it while pulling on the release handle.

Hand Park Brake...
Again the same principle applies. It will take the same pressure applied to release it. Push in ******* the release while pulling up ******* the handle. This one can also be released by using a screwdriver to pop the the locking tab.

theres a product called release all spray it down the parking break cable ends in the parking break housing
also if need to work asap put truck in reverse and slowely work it back and forth rock the truck

or if all else fails remove tires and wach drums with a hammer untill they release then once open pull the cables with vice grips and have friend pull hand break
so you get a back and forth motion untill cable free remem ber there are 2 rear drums on every truck
so do both cables

I released the parking brake on my 02 Chevy Tahoe and the handle (on the dash, not center console) hyper-extended and the brake would not release. I thought I would try to pull the wire with pliers but...

Hello all, this happend to my 2002 taboe as well. There is a handle under the dash below the steering column. The handle is conected via a cable to the parking brake foot mechanism. This cable is known to break. This part is available online through numerous websites for roughly 17-25 dollars, ebay has it but it goes for roughly 35 dollars. It is very easy to install with a pair of pliers and a wrench. The cable is about a foot long and comes with the release lever already installed.
