Question about Vauxhall Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Purchased new but not original vauxhall headlights and when switched on they point down, not out in front like they did on originals. Levelling motors are fitted.

Checked and double checked everything that I can think of.

Put the lights on and check the adjustment of the levelling motors check the method of fixing the motors to the headlights as it may be a hole out or a screw adjustment on a rod.. Remember low beam is meant to point down with only the main beam lights to point straight ahead

I think there are two. I assume your car is a Corsa C derivative? If so they are K69A and K69B. See this page and scroll down to the diagram posted by 'royga':

How do I replace the headlight leveler motor on a PT Cruiser?

LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR PT
HEADLAMP LEVELING MOTOR - EXPORT
REMOVAL
(1) Remove headlamp unit
(2) Disconnect headlamp levelling motor electrical
connector.
(3) Rotate levelling motor one quarter turn counter clockwise.
This will free levelling motor housing from
the headlamp unit.
(4) Pull levelling motor straight from headlamp
unit. Significant force will be required to unsnap
motor control arm from lens reflector.
NOTE: The headlamp levelling motor control arm is
snapped into the lens reflector mechanism very
securely. Use a firm, steady pull to disengage motor
arm from reflector.
(5) Remove levelling motor from headlamp unit.
INSTALLATION
(1) While holding headlamp reflector assembly
still, push levelling motor until control arm is fully
seated into reflector mechanism. An audible "snap"
will be heard.
(2) Push and rotate levelling motor one quarter
turn clockwise to lock motor to the headlamp unit.
(3) Connect headlamp levelling motor electrical
connector.
(4) Install headlamp unit in the vehicle Locksmith Buffalo Ny 24 Hour Locksmith in Buffalo Ny 716 249 2944

Hiya, i have a ford fiesta 2007 with the self-levelling adjustment. A while ago the headlight were constantly going up and down adjusting themeselves and now they have just stopped working and are just at...

self levers have a switch on the suspension that controls the lights position. i would check this is working first as when they go it can make the lights go up and down all the time.

2005 jaguar xtype how do i adjust headlights

If I am understanding your post, I believe you do have a levelling
system and it should be near your light switch on the dash. It is
the type of switch that you depress first, it then springs out and
you turn the small knob (just like your instrument panel lights
adjuster next to it.) What you do not have perhaps, if your car is
not fitted with HIDs (high intensity headlamps), is the automatic
levelling system which is a legal requirement when HIDs are fitted
due to the high power of the lights....

if you don't have a self-levelling system then you'll have a manual
system, operated by a knob under the light switch so that you can
adjust to compensate for a heavy load in the rear of the car.

The levelling light flashes can hear hissing

you have a air line or air valve that has went bad or a bad air bag, find the air leak and you will find the problem. it may just be a line. each wheels has a leveling lever that airs up each wheel bag if air leaks out it will cause the whole suspension not to operate and it will damage the car and will cost you big bucks if you don't fix it. if it's just a hose you may be able to cut it and make it work or you will have to buy a new hose with ferells to rehook the new line up.
