I read window kit from eBay including switches and door looms. Is the car wired for this, I.e. Plug and play or will I need to purchase more of the internal loom?

What kind of vehicle? Model? Base or Higher?
Many times the wiring harnesses do have the "accessories" already wired into it, make it economical that all harnesses be the same for each model.

I had a similar problem in my 03 Spider. The wiring loom for the window switch and motor comes out of the front pillar and in through the edge of the door. Every time the door opens and closes the wires in the loom flex. I had a broken wire in this part of the loom.

How do i fix power windows on 2001 chrysler sebring

if no door or window switches work in entire car start by checking FUSES , then by spraying compressed air into the switches on the drivers door panel whilst moving switches back and forth. then spray some WD40 or electronic componet cleaner into edges of switches whist moving switches hoping they come back to life. then pulling open drivers door rubber harness cover where it enters car. look for wires in the loom that are cracked and broken. this is wires bend each time door is opened. then remove drivers door panel and test then remove loom connector from door frame and use OHM /volt meter to find broken wires or switches in drivers door problems in drivers door. check for voltage at window motor first. . buy whole new door panel with wiring harness and switches at Pick n pull. if that does not work a haynes manual and look at wiring schematics. NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER BUY NEW PARTS.

99 VW Passat, I am getting no power to the passangers side door. Whin I say no power like to the window motor, power lock, lights on the switches.

check the wire plug in the door there is a black rubber the wires are in there this is a common place for the wires to snap. if the wires are snaked you will need to replace them, you do this by taking out the side part on the A post inside and find the wire loom to the door. peal the seal back over the connector for the door part and cut out the bad wires and solder the new wires in to the connector replace the hole wire into the A post wiring loom. don't just try to fix the broken wires as this will cause wiring problems later. make sure you match each wire to its right color, when finished use some sealant on the plug end to seal your solder points. and insulation tape on the other end to the loom. then reconnect to door and check its working if all working pull the rubber seal back over and put some sealent on the end if it needs it.

None of my Windows will let down from either door. If I open my door all the way sometimes it will work. Other times it just makes a buzzing noise when I push the driver side window down button on the...

There is most probably some kind of damage to the harness going through from the interior or the car to the door, in the door jamb (driver side). You can cut the insulation and expose the wiring to inspect it-and it is going to take time and patience to find the break. Try wiggling the harness and individual wires in the harness as you actuate the window switch, it might speed the process.

Rear power windows do not work either down or up

the most likely cause is the wiring harness in the driver door has broken wires,the master switch for all the windows goes thru the driver door and so do all the wires,the wires get week and break after many door opening and closing and breaks the wires,you will need to remve the door loom in the corner of the door when you open it at the body,the wires are in there,,,,,check that first,you may need to cut open the rubber loom to check it,,,,,if thats not it maybe you got 2 bad window regulators

The power windows are not working at all. Tried the fuses.

ok,make sure you tried all the windows on all the door switches,,,,what i think you may find is broken wires,sounds like it,,,,,when you open the drviers side door,look in the crack where the body of the car meets the door and you will see a black wire harness,you are going to carefully cut open that harness loom with a sharp razor knife,Be careful not to cut yourself and not to cut into the wires inside the loom,,,once you got it cut open you will need to inspect the wires inside,,they get dry and brittle from all the opening and closing of the door and the wires chaff open and short and some even break apart,,ive seen 6 broken wires in 1 ion door jam,,,,all the wires for all the windos run thru here because of the master switch being in that door...,,if oyu do find broken ones go get the pinkish red **** connector,make sure they are heatshrink connectors so they are weather proof,fix all the wires and heat the connector up to shrink it tight then electrical tape over each connector seperately,then put loom back on and electrical tape the complete loom from door to body,,,,,and all should work...ive never seen a bad windows switch knock out all 4 windows so i doubt its that,,,but good luck,hopefully this helps you

Could be the window switch,motor or regulator.

Windows won't work

Your power feed to the window switch panel is a big wire loom that goes through the driver door. Check the connection at the door jamb. I've seen the plug slowly come apart just from the door opening and closing. You should have a power window fuse at the fuse block under the dash as well. The power to all the windows goes to the main switch at the driver door first then goes to the rest of the windows. Hope this helps.
