All answers USA spec, car no engine stated and battery charged fully and lugs clean.
wow Benix, drive, like on 1920 to 60s cars...?
inventor, Vincent Hugo Bendix.
it has no bendix, those are not used now, the modern cars
use a solenoid, with overrunning clutch now. sorry.
The bendix is unique in that it engages, by itself ! unlike this car.
better ?
it's a bad stater or just filthy dirty pinon clutch shaft on starter.
remove starter clean that pinion shaft and lube it.
make sure the solenoid it self is not sticking. (feel it)
history:
This overrunning-clutch pinion arrangement was phased into use beginning in the early 1960s; before that time, a Bendix drive was used.

Intermittent Starting Problem

My 2007 Commander never stalled while running, but every couple weeks would fail to start. Turn the key and nothing would happen. After a couple hours or overnight it would always start again with no errors recorded. First time they replaced the shift box (auto) thinking the system was not showing in park. Second time they did nothing. Third time they replaced the keys and fob module thinking it wasn't being recognized. Fourth time it finally wouldn't start at the dealer either and they replaced the starter. So far so good and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Dave
