If by starter you mean the starter motor then they are always located between the tranny and the engine. You should be able to see it if you look where the two meet.

Remote start chevy

Clean all the battery contact points on the remote starter, then re-install your battery. If that doesn't fix the problem, try a fresh battery.

Make sure you remove the little piece of contact paper on the battery itself before installing it. Hope that helps.

What could be the problem with a 2006 chevy colorado that has ignition starting issues?

everything you mention indicates a failing starter motor. Pull it and have it bench tested by an accredited auto electrician as they can be repaired if the failure is not to bad.

2005 Chevy Colorado won't start sometimes. Can hear clack, clack, clack all lights and radio work. Have had dealer mech check it out and can't find a problem. HELP PLEASE!!!!

This is most likely caused by burned heavy battery contacts inside the starter solenoid which is mounted to the top of the starter. The most sure fire way to fix this is to replace the whole starter with a quality rebuilt from the GM dealer or a NAPA or Car Quest retailer. I have found that so called discount auto parts stores are cheaper but the parts are poorly rebuilt.

Out of the blue my chevy colorado won't start if i disconnect the battery then hook it reconnect after a couple minutes it will start

does the unit crank after it fails? I would check all of my battery connections you may have a loose ground either at the battery or at the engine. You may also have a bad starter relay located un the fuse panel under the hood

2005 chevy colorado shuts off while driving, try to start but wont crank over. Blows ignition fuse everytime. whats wrong?

Sounds like a short circuit in the starter wireing. It may also be a bad altenater, make sure the batter is not bulging.

How do headlight shine? (hard to tell in sunshine)

How does horn sound? Weak battery usually means a sick horn.

Can you jump start the vehicle? If so, then it is the battery/alternator, drive it to a auto parts store, most will check out the system for free.

If not the battery, and you here a clicking noise from around the starter area, likely is the starter or the solenoid for the starter.
