How can I pull my Equinox out of the mud?

Rocking it back and forth, cleared snow away from tires. Need to find where to attach a tow strap.

Call AAA they have a manual that tells you a safe place to hook. Also refer to your owner manual, there should be a towing section. Most of these units had a place in the subframe that is reinforced to hook

I have new tires on my 2008 Ford Fusion but no traction in the snow

what type of tire did you get?? hiway tire..or a mud/snow tire..there is a difference..you can usually tell by the tread pattern.. a highway tire is designed to help remove water to the sides and away from the rubber facing..and has consistent lines in it.. a traction tire has blocks on the tread surface that gives the loose snow some where to go when driven over ..and this tread is self cleaning as the tire rotates..the tread is normally a bit deeper also..just because they are new dont mean they are the right ones..you may also need to invest in a set of traction grippers that are put on the wheel for deep snow..(like snow chains)..however check on your state and local laws allowing usage before purchasing..the newer ones are a type of cable system that has ferrules on the road surface..

I just recently had my car towed out of a snow bank now the car sways back and forth when you drive it . What mayh be causing this?

Have the car checked out for front end looseness on the sway bar (if so equipped), the lower control arms, the tie rod ends, and the ball joints. Something could have been damaged when the car went into the snow bank.

I hope that the towing company properly pulled on the subframe of the car without damaging anything that pivots underneath the vehicle.

I wouldn't wait very long to diagnose the problem, as it sounds like it could be a dangerous condition.

Also, inspect the tires for out of roundness.

An alignment should be performed on the vehicle which would include a pre-inspection of the front end parts before adjusting alignment angles.

Good luck on this.

No real problems, just shopping for the best tires for Wisconsin winters. This is my second Chevy Lumina, the first was a 96, which was hit by a drunk driver while parked, and destroyed...nobody...

Make sure you get snow tires not all seasons. Get a tire with a "Mud and Snow" tread design. It may also be called M&S. If you experience a lot of icy conditions, give serious thought to getting them studded. Todays new tread designs give you the traction you will need to wade through snow but not the road noise that there used to be. Look for deep lugs with wide gaps between them to move snow out of the tire track. That way you will be the guy driving home while the other guy's are waiting to get towed out. Hope this helps.

Where would i hook a chain to the 04 mustang to pull it out of the mudd

Use the two hooks.
If you don't have them, wrap the strap around the frame. It is a low profile car so the recovery strap will most likely push up on bumper (depending upon the angle).
The deeper the mud, the harder you will need to pull, the more damage you can do. Have some friends push while it is being pulled.
Be safe. Call a tow truck if you need to.

I would start with the cheaper problem first, if you live in snow or mud county pull the tires look for mud, ice, then have your tires re-balanced. Not that try wheel aliment
