Remove the electrical/fuse box. Just pops off. Remove the bar that goes across the battery. Remove the terminals and remove the hold down bolt that secures the battery. You need an 8 MM wrench(5/16ths) And a 13 MM socket with ratchet.

Lift car on jack stands, disconnect the car battery and while under car you will find two bolts that hold it heat shield on front and back of starter. After removing the heat shield, this will give you access to the bolt against the engine on top. Two other bolts easy to get to. Disconnect wires to starter and then remove bolts. when running at battery, voltage should be at least 14.1 to 14.7 with all assesories off. check the wire from alternator to battery. if all is fine. get the alt. checked again it may be a bad diode in alternator. when engine is off at battery should be at least 12.6 or better.

I just need to know STEP BY STEP how to replace my alternator in my 1999 Alero by Oldsmobile.


First, remove the negative battery cable. Then remove the wires off of the alternator then the bolts that hold it on and then remove the alternator. The schematic for the serpentine belt should be on the fan shroud. If not, draw one before removing it. Don't rely on memory. Happy Hunting,

How do you replace a blower motor on a 1999 oldsmobile intrigue?


It's easy.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the right side insulator/ carboard/ fabric thingy (if it's still there).
  3. Unclip the instrument panel wiring harness retainer and move it out of the way.
  4. Disconnect the blower motor.
  5. Disconnect the blower motor cooling hose.
  6. Remove the (3) blower motor mounting bolts.
  7. Remove the blower motor.

Car will not start, starter will not engage


REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  3. If necessary for access, remove the splash shield.
  4. If equipped, unfasten the flywheel inspection cover bolts and remove the cover.
  5. Label and detach the electrical connectors from the starter.

Fig. 1: Unfasten the starter motor electrical connections. You may want to tag them first to avoid confusion

  1. It may allow more room it you remove the right side cooling fan.
  2. Remove the starter-to-engine bolts, then carefully lower the starter from the vehicle.

Dead battery in 1999 Oldsmobile silhouette


you have to take the fuse box out. unhook the hot wire from the front of the fuse box.then there is a little black holder with which you can take a flat head screwdriver and lift the little peg in the middle of it which will then come out. then just pull the fuse box off to the side and u should be to the battery.hope this helps
