Have a 2.5 t3 microbus vw driving 4 20 minutes it starts to jerk& smokes black, it clears & drives fine but reoccurs replaced fueldistributor, relay, pump&filter no change. What could the problem be?

possible cure would be to put petrol through and clear a sludge that's built up. run the engine for 10 mins on tick over. failing that check timing. ex recon engineer. retired

I have a97niss pick up ,when you are at at alight

the black smoke indicates running very rich. you need to have it hooked up to a scan tool to see the readings that the computer is seeing to help find the possible problem. it could be a MAF sensor, coolant temp sensor, high fuel pressure, dirty or malfunctioning injectors, even a bad PCM(computer). so you don`t waste money and throw any more money at this go to a shop that can handle the diagnoses.

Black smoke and skipping

Black smoke indicates you are burning excess fuel. This could be anything from a bad air cleaner through to sensors, injectors and fuel pump pressure.

The miss could be a plug or other ignition problem.

Start with the plugs, air cleaner and timing, the simple and easy fixes. Then work your way back through a process of elimination if the problem is not cured by the first fixes.

Black smoke from exhaust, rough idle, black soot on plugs

signs of a bad fuel pressure regulator-- the vehicle will run rough, the engine will not start ( usually in the mornings,) many times engine starts but stalls shortly after starting. a bad regulator can result in fouled plugs. replacement is only cure. 1- black soot on plugs-2-black smoke from tailpipe-3- running rough-4- stalling, good-day! repost if need be.

Ihave a leaking waterpump, and coolant mixing in my oil.

once the leak gets to this point nothing works, but it is worth a try, contact NAPA auto parts for a head gasket sealer, they have some that might stop or slow it down for awhile.

93 Honda Accord Black Smoke When Accelerating

You have gone past the operating parameters of the computer sensors that measure air flow and manifold pressures There are many websites that deal with honda mods like yours, and likely you will find a cure there. I know there is a map sensor modification that can be made on Jeeps with the same items you have added, likely yours can be done as well. Try google and just type in honda forums and see what comes up.

Car smoking

If it's bluish it means tht it's burning engine oil, probabely the piston rings on this particular cylinder has gone it could even be the oil rings. It's better you take a compression test on all the cylinders you may find that the # 3 could be the lowest.
Maybe too tht the valves could be the culprit and the seals too on this particular cylinder.
Hope this helps!
