Question about 2006 Mazda 3

My mazda 3 - 2006 model has problems with the central locking. Mazda says that a fuse has gone and that it will cost about $3,000 for a new fuse block, as the fuse can not be replaced. Is this right

Mazda have seen the car and says that the fuse blcok needs to be replaced.

I'm not a Mazda expert but I do no enough about cars that a fuse of any type can be replaced Mazda just wants your money. (Fuse can not be replaced but they say fuse block needs to be replaced) ????????????Don't make any since...Second opinion I would say.I personally try to vere away from dealers as much as possible unless it's a recall Just friendly Advise.

Hi i just had a new alternator put in my mazda 323 astina and now no power to central locking was working before the alternator was replaced???

Most likely the battery was disconnected when replacing the alternator. I would double check the wire connections on the battery to the alternator.

There is a trailer wiring jack at the back bumper of my 2006 Mazda Tribute but there is no power to any of the pins. How do I fix this so that my trailer lighting works?

The 2006 Mazda Tribute w/o factory tow package can't accept a trailer wiring harness. If you install one you will probably burn out the central computer as I did. I had a top notch trailer hitch instaler try three different brand harnesses. I feel Mazda should reimburse me the cost of this car new, as I bought it to tow and was told that it could tow 3500 lbs. False representation!

No it's not going to be that bad, that's the reason for fuses, check your fuses, with key on and head lights on, used a test light, replace bad fuses, should take care of your problem.

I have same problem and have found the lower light to have a malfunction in the socket. Mazda says replace brake harness. Cheap fix junk yard but same prob can come back. Also does your cruise work? may be related to switch on brake pedal.

This is an ongoing circuit board issue with this model. Mazda has an exchange program with united radio (http://www.unitedradio.com/) in Syracuse NY you can get a replacement for around $150.00

Check the bulbs if fuse not gone, otherwise it is the reverse switch sensor on the gearbox, not an expensive part but not easy to replace by your own

Electrical fault

Malsmed,

Does your mazda have a central locking unit in the boot? If so then follow the wiring if you can to the fuse block and see where the wiring goes into and check the problem their? If that does not solve the then check the central locking unit in the boot and the ECU unit behind the fuse box.

Hope this will help you
