Where is shift solenoid on a 2007 dodge ram 1500

I'm not positive on the 2007 specifically, but in most cases the shift solenoid is located inside the transmission fluid pan, above the filter. Drain the fluid/drop the pan, remove the transmission filter, and you SHOULD see the solenoid just above the front edge of the opening...

Again I'm not positive on the 07, this is just where they are located on most of the trucks I have encountered. On that note, before you open it up make sure you have a new filter & gasket and enough new fluid to fill the pan after servicing (normally 4-5 quarts will do it) keep in mind a service fill is considerably less fluid than the total fluid capacity of your transmission... good luck !

My 2001 F 350 super duty 3.7 will not shift into 3rd, or overdrive, or reverse. The overdrive light is blinking also. I have already changed the the fluid and filter. Was wondering if this could be a...

Okay the flashing overdrive light is a trouble code and you need to have pcm (powertrain control module) codes read to know what they are. This is a common problem with these trucks but not always same cause, sometimes it is a vehicle speed sensor and sometimes it is a faulty torque converter clutch solenoid. Either way most eveyone agrees it needs to go to a ford dealer to be diagnosed correctly

My shifting is skipping gears in my 1993 dodge ram 250 conversion van. My mechanic doesn't know why. I think it might be something that connects to the transmission. donna_rdly@yahoo.com

First thing you will need to do is change the transmission fluid and filter. You may have metal shavings inside your transmission pan blocking the filter kit and this would cause your vehicle to skip gears. Try installing the new fluid and filter kit first. Since you will have the pan off, replace the A and B shift solenoid if the new filter kit and fluid don't stop your transmission from skipping gears

How much trans fluid needed after filter change on 1997 dodge caravan

My 1997 Caravan manual states that the trans fluid capacity is 8.5 quarts. However, in the transmission oil change section, it says to drop the pan, drain the oil, replace the filter and add 4 quarts of new fluid. This tells me that the torque converter is not draining so you are in fact, only changing "half" of the transmission fluid.

I have code P0750 and HOW I REPAIR this?

Sounds to me like a solenoid. I believe thats the low reverse solenoid which if I'm not mistaken would allow your durango to kick into Overdrive. They run about $125 and you need to drop the pan on the tranny after draining the fluid and disconnect the wiring and remove the old one and do the reverse to put it back together with a new seal, and you might as well change the filters too (durango has 2). Fill it with ATF-4 fluid, 6 quarts i think and you should be good to go.

Where exactly is the drain plug for the transmission located on a 99 dodge caravan?

There is not drain plug on the dodge caravan.
Drain the Transmission Fluid and Replace the Filter
Raise, support and level the van on jack stands or ramps. Place a drain pan that can hold at least 4 quarts of fluid beneath the transmission.
Employ a socket wrench to remove the retaining bolts on the fluid pan, except for the two on either end. Loosen the two bolts on the lower end of the pan. Gently pull down on the edge of the pan so that it separates from the transmission case. Let the fluid drain. You may need to tap the pan with a rubber hammer to separate the pan from the case.
Remove the last four bolts and the pan when the fluid finishes draining. Loosen the bolts a little at a time, allowing the remaining fluid to drain. Clean the pan and the magnet inside.
Scrape the old sealant from the pan flange with an appropriate scraping tool. Do the same on the mating surface of the transmission case.
Remove the two screws that hold the filter on the transmission with a T25 Torx bit and remove the filter. Look for the rubber filter or O ring between the filter and valve body and remove it.
nstall a new transmission fluid filter and gasket. Using a torque wrench, tighten the mounting screws to 40 inch pounds
Apply a thin, 1/8 inch bead of RTV sealant on the mounting flange of the fluid pan. Replace the fluid pan on the transmission and tighten the bolts to 165 inch pounds with a torque wrench. Return the van to the ground.
Replace the New Transmission Fluid
Pour 4 quarts of ATF PLUS 3 Type 7176 fluid into the filler tube using a funnel. Start the engine and let it idle for a minute or two. Apply the parking brake and the service brake. Move the gear selector through the gears and stop at "Park" or "Neutral.
Add enough fluid to bring the level to 1/8 inch below the "Add" indicator, if needed. Let the van run for another 10 to 20 minutes to allow the engine and transmission to reach a normal operating temperature
Check the fluid level again to ensure it reached the "Hot" indicator on the dipstick. Add more fluid if needed and replace the dipstick in the filler tube. Turn off the engine.
Good luck and hope this helps.
